I found the flavor a bit fruity for a bock, almost wheatbeer-ish. Drinkable, but not my favorite, and not a typical bock by definition. nick76 (2656), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 1, 2005 Aroma is malt and light herbal hops. Color is deep golden and has a large head that goes away quickly but leaves lots of lace. Taste is rather simple but good. Citrus and herbal hops with lightly roasted malt. Aftertaste is slightly bitter but mostly dry. Pretty good but in keeping with Flying Dog tradition this is an odd beer for its style. billk (300), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | May 18, 2005 This bottled brew poured a small sized head of finely sized foamy mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated hazy orange brown colored body that I found rather light for a bock and a fair lacing. The aroma was malty and bready. Its tingly crisp mouth feel was fresh and lingered well into the finish. It did not have a typical bock flavor. It was more like a wheat. Good but.... The flavor did contain notes of mild biting hops and wheat. aracauna (2374), Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 14, 2005 This isn’t a bad bock. The medium amber body carries a good head. The aroma is slightly sweet malts and while the body is lighter than some other bocks, it still is a malty lager. Light and crisp enough to be refreshing, but malty enough to be satisfying. wxman (585), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 9, 2005 Mild hop and spice aroma. OK white head that leaves some Brussell’s lace. Color is a light amber. Somewhat sweet maltly taste with weak hops in the back. Many micro Maibocks are better, but this one refreshes when served barely cold. Not cloying, thick or full of alcohol as some are. Cletus (5052), Connecticut, USA
