Commercial Description:
Heller Hound Bock is a crisp and malty Maibock, brewed with a special combination of Vienna and Munich malts. With a rich mouth feel and a subtle hop finish this is the perfect brew for toasting the sun's return.

Pale gold color with no head. Smells like a grain silo; not a good start... Oh... tastes worse... like the floor of the loading docks outside the mill. Damn, not right.

A blond bock. Ordinary bock aroma, ordinary bock taste. Some malt, sweet. A fairly good beer.

yeahhh so if this was rated during a blind taste test i wouldn’t even think of the word bock, but it’s nice and chilled, and i’m very thirsty, and yup mmm this hits the spot! lemony vegetables never tasted so good. overall, it’s a flying dog that i could actually have again. i think, as of right now, i only like their snake dog ipa as something that i would buy again. not my kind of bock, though.

Bottle. First of all, this beer did not look or smell like a bock beer IMO. Small white head that mostly diminished, fair lacing, fine sized bubbles, carbonated, semi-transparent, and a yellow golden hue. Malty, caramel, sweet, and hoppy aroma. Flavor was sweet, somewhat bitter, malty and some caramel. Slightly tingly and thin mouthfeel. Light bodied beer. Nothing special IMMHO.

Bottle: Golden hue with small but lasting head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of lmeongrass, honeycomb, caramelized malts, floral hops, and dusty yeast esters. The taste starts crisp and mildly bitter with a good dose of malt background. Some citrus and a noticebale biscuity presence. The finish has lingering bitterness. The feel is crisp and lively initially but then turn more metallic and chalky as you drink it. A good offering and worthy of a try.

This was a great beer for the style. Just what I would want in the Spring! It was lighter bodied and the flavor was just right. Recommended.

The appearance is cloudy and dark gold. the tiniest trace of a head on top. Nice light aroma with some apples and nutmeg spice. Also an earthy fall leaf smell. The taste is light and refreshing. Hints of oranges and peanut butter. An interesting brew for sure. A pleasant surprise from Flying Dog.
