Aroma is mainly comprised of a wheat/dough/bread/biscuit aroma, one of those anyway; add some light honey and citrus. Flavors are a bit more balanced. Citrusy hops hit the tongue and a warm biscuit maltiness spreads through out. It leaves you with a bitter hop bite and a hint of alcohol. AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 10, 2004 Bright golden color with a thick, lacy, white head. Not much aroma though honey and light hops are there. Flavor of lightly honeyd, grainy malt mixed with perfumy, spicy hops. Creamy mouthfeel with a balancing bitterness. Nutty and toasty with just a kiss of alcohol. Too thin, though and get really watery at the finish. jgb9348 (2495), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 28, 2004 Amber coloured body with almost no head at all...but it was tan. Aroma of malt & some caramel-fairly bland. Medium to Light-bodied; Malty taste with almost nothing else in the palate. Bland aftertaste showing some caramel and little else. Overall, just what I had expected from Flying Dog-another inferior product. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purhased from Beers of the World in Rochester, New York on 29-August-2004. apost8n8 (123), Oklahoma, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2004 I was hit with a light citrus-y aroma as soon as I opened the bottle. It had a very nice orange glow to it, but had little head, and the lacing was only so-so. It was pretty smooth, with little carbonation. I thought it left an odd metallicky tatse in my mouth. I didn’t detect too much taste until the finish, where I was left with a midly bitter feeling, and that odd metallic taste. Definatly not my favourite, but it was worth the $1.50. punkeedo (465), San Antonio, Texas, USA

Nice and malty, however it has a twinge of an alcohol taste. Also, there’s a bit of a sharp carbonation twinge to it. Overall, not a bad bock and the best I’ve had (though, I’ve only had a few). | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 26, 2004 Updated: Sep 27, 2004Clear light amber with a thick creamy lasting off white head. Lightly floral aroma of caramel, bread, herbs, cookie and bubblegum. Medium watery body with lively carbonation. Slightly vegetal flavor of plum, caramel, cookie, bread, and a hint of spice. A little confused and unclean. One step away from being good. I'm starting to feel bad about rating beers from this brewery because they are all on the cusp of being worthwhile, just not quite yet. Decent.
