Commercial Description:
Heller Hound Bock is a crisp and malty Maibock, brewed with a special combination of Vienna and Munich malts. With a rich mouth feel and a subtle hop finish this is the perfect brew for toasting the sun's return.

12 oz bottle thanks to beerlord. Copper color, creamy head, seemed to me a lot like a pale ale. Nice beer.

Pours a clear amber. No head really. Nose is sugary like the frosting to a cake, but fruity. Flavor is kind of odd. Sweet but with a weird bitter edge to it. Kind of seems rough around the edges. Feel is good on the liquid with a strong bubble that bites a bit. Overall I can’t say this one is overly worth trying. Rough around the edges and lacking any smooth edge to it. Seems like a miss to me and definitely stands as one of my least favorite Flying Dogs to date.

Bottled. Clear, lighter toffee pour with a short, sticky cap of white head. The aroma was sticky and sweet with darker caramel notes and some dried leafy hoppage.. simple and perhaps too sweet, but it smelled good to me! The flavor also had a great deal of very sweet, lightly-toasted caramel, but with more of an herbal twist for hops.. left a sweet impression on the finish. Just shy of medium-bodied, very sweet, and somewhat refreshing on the palate. I liked this, but can see why some wouldn’t.

Crazy bottle as usual. It hurts my soul. Very little hops. Minimal head. It does have a thick feeling in the mouth. Not a great beer, but nevertheless its ok. It is a different flavor. Odd. Random.

Golden in color. Heavy malt aroma - no hops in aroma. Sweet matly base with caramel notes. A little fruity.

Bottle Golden pour with decent head. Aroma and flavor of malt, some hops and thick fruityness. Good mouth feel, good brew.

Bottle: Pours a light amber color with small white head. Aroma of light malt, caramel and hay/grass. Interesting flavor that threw me off for a second. I’m not real sure how to describe it other than sweet and malty. Their is something that I can’t quite place though. Has a slightly bitter floral hop note throughout. Pretty good.
