A pale orange beer with a disappearing off-white head. The aroma is rather sweet and malty with a touch of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet and malty and again with the alcohol shining thru, leading to a dry bitter and alcoholic end.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, fully golden with a creamy, white head. Malty nose with some alcohol shining through. Solid body with lots of sweetish pilsener malt and a sophisticated - almost perfumy - edge. Discreet, hoppy finish. Very clean and true to style Maibock. 150506

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JoeMcPhee (6965) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 12, 2006
12 oz bottle. Deep golden with a fast fading white head. Sweet pale malt aroma, a bit of stone fruite (apricot) as well. Fairly clean, but the mouthfeel is a bit oil and slick. Sweet pale malt, bread and a bit of lingering breadiness. Faint noble hops. OK, but a bit lacking in character. As it warms, some nice toasty notes come forward.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 3fourths (6404) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 28, 2007
12oz bottle. Clear gold colored body with a sticky, foamy off-white head. Semi-sweet toasted cereal grain and honey nose. Mild hop presence in the nose, husky, earthy, peaty hop aroma. Big hop presence taste, though, with toasted grains and bread and corn husk, turning slightly metallic and sour in the finish. Slick and moderately thick. Overall quite good, not as good as other heller bocks, and it kind of just tastes like Flying Dog, there’s something they do similar in almost every beer it seems. Regardless it’s a solid beer, refreshing.
