Commercial Description:
Heller Hound Bock is a crisp and malty Maibock, brewed with a special combination of Vienna and Munich malts. With a rich mouth feel and a subtle hop finish this is the perfect brew for toasting the sun's return.

A pale orange beer with a disappearing off-white head. The aroma is rather sweet and malty with a touch of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet and malty and again with the alcohol shining thru, leading to a dry bitter and alcoholic end.

(Rating #1185)

Draught: Maybe the keg was old, but a light brown/amber thin white head, sweet caramel, nutty, malty, and kinda spicy, it was ok.

Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a smaller bubbly white head that left light lacing. Aroma is all malts. Like freshly cracked barley malt. Sweet with caramel, toasted malts and some honey. This is one malty aroma. Cannot really detect any hop, yeast or alcohol presence. Maybe a very light fruitiness. Flavor is also very malty and slightly thinner than I expected after smelling all that malt. Can detect a slight hop profile in the flavor though, although not very distinct. Can pick up hints of honey, caramel and a light fruitiness in the flavor also. When I first cracked this and smelled it I thought it was going to turn out to be a good bock...turned out to be rather average to just below average.

Clear light amber with a fleeting head. A malty bready smell is faintly sweet. Med bodied with a smooth texture. A mild, but nice nutty malty flavor here with a mildly bitter finish. Not a bad beer, but weak for a bock. 62406

From a bottle. Sorta skunky and breadlike aroma. Deep yellow color. Sweet at the beginning and sour at the finish. Typical mouthfeel. I drank this last year and enjoyed it more. Either my taste has changed or the beer.

12 oz bottle from cbkschubert . Lightly hazy gold with a white head. Honeylike malt nose, some very light grass. Sweet malt and honey flavors, not quite buttery. Somewhat dry salty finish, mild sweet malt flavors. OK.

Bottle rating. Peach colored. Nose is predominantly honey. Head quickly disappears. Pretty one dimensional beer here. Basically honey and faint caramel. Not bad, just not memorable.
