3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Vintage 13BB (2013 I am assuming. Pours deep red-brown with a very thin beige head. Aroma is excellent; fruity, dark fruits, vanilla, alcohol, bread, floral, touch of bubblegum. Taste is nice, big, aggressive; dark fruits (plum, raisin, prune), grapes, alcohol, bread, hints of chocolate; finish is bitter fruit skin. Little lacing. Mouth feel is thick and oily. Carbonation is a bit higher than expected; medium-high with some very aggressive bubbles. Overall, I really enjoyed this. While alcohol is evident, the particular strength is well hidden. Full-bodied; flavorful.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
beautyful ruby colour, minimal brownish off-white head; aroma of dried fruits, oak barrel, intensive malty sweetness and spicy alcohol; taste is fully dominated by malty sweetness with fruity notes, alcoholic warmth and some bitterness; lots of sweetness with bitter notes and alcohol - it’s really like a great liqueur

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Good and moderate fragrance. Really good taste sweeter. The aftertaste disappears pretty fast. But clearly a beer you must try.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance is of a dark reddish amber color with a foam lace that hugs the rim of my glass. The aroma is of dried fruit, barley, carmel malts, and lite hops. In the taste I picked up on sugary licorice, carmel malts, and a strong fruit character. The finish leaves an after taste of sugary sweet malts, grains, and a very lite chocolate bitterness. The booze evident but is hidden nicely enough to make this beverage enjoyable. In the end this was a good drink. I’d have another if I was out and about.

Aroma: biscuit, chocolate, raisns and other dried fruits; Appearance: very dark ruby, hazy, small tanned foam; Taste: very sweet, medium bitterness, some alcohol; Palate: rather full body, thick feel, sticky, very soft carbonation, long bitter and astringent (alcohol); Overall: very good beer but as for me a little too sweet

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Amber, quite clear. Old sweet malty, like a barley wine shoukd be. Deep caramel, a bit of spicyness. Body is thick, vanilla caramel maltiness. Lots of flavours, and pretty much what a BW should be like. Bitter also, wiping the sweetness off, and a bit of alc pushing through. I’ve never been a fan of this style, but afaik, this is a good, friendly and clean example of it.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Very malty for the style but well balanced. Very enjoyable.
