Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

0,355l bottle from Beer Bier, Budapest. Clear, dark amber color with medium, white head. Liqueury, grainy odor. Sweet, honey, alcoholly aroma. Harsh sweet taste. Medium to full body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Grainy finish. This beer is not much better than malt liqueurs. Itís too sweet and too alcoholly, and at the same time itís not hoppy enough, not malty, not caramelly enough. They said, it needs a long bottle maturation. Maybe after two years, itís much different.

Enjoyed at an all barley wine tasting at Travisís house on February 21. This 7 oz bottle was shared by Ryan at the end of the night. The pour is a nice mahogany brown with a light brown lace and no lace to be found. The aroma is pretty good. There is a lot of brown sugar and dark fruits. It has a little caramel and a decent sweetness that starts to dominate, nearing a bit cloying. The flavor is much sweeter than the nose leads on. There is a lot of honey present that Iím not crazy about. The mouth feel is decently thick, with a light carbonation and a cloyingly sweet lingering finish. Decent, but Iím not that big of a fan

Deep ruby with a thick tan head. Big sweet malty, fruity aromas and flavours. Dried fruit, caramel, mild bitterness, slick, oily, boozy. A sipper for sure, but very good.

Clear ruby beer with a thin, brownish head and a strong, fruity aroma. Flavour is fruit, a bit of apple in there I think as well as something lighter and citric to lend it a bit of balance. Rich maltiness to it as well. It tastes its strength and is very much a sipper but itís rich, hearty and very drinkable.

Very beautiful and (unusual for type) coarse foam at this beautiful deep red barley. Smells of fresh fruit, light malt and very little hops. Tastes of lovely fresh fruit. Raisin, plum and tangerine. An unusually delicious barley that can safely be stored for many years with advantage. The flying dog amazes again ......

Amber colour with red hues, pleasant sweet malt and spicy, floral hop aroma. Taste is sweet caramel, burnt sugar, licorice. Full bodied, alcohol present but not overbearing. A little sweet for my liking but a well crafted brew.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2015 Growler at 5ío Clock Wines and Spirits in Owings Mills. Sweetish blend of carmel, malts and rasins make this a nice brew. Pours a deep amber and golden hue with a modest head, yeilding to a permeable amount of sugars and well balanced alcohol. Slightly piney sensation on the swallow and crispy, yet quite mature, semi oily and full of flavor.

Dark hazy brown-amber with a dark thick head. Very high intensity aromas: honey, coffee beans, banana, grass and a long etc. Powerful, sweetínísour, oily and strongly bitter without being rough. Long finish. A hell of a good beer.
