COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

0,355l bottle from Beer Bier, Budapest. Clear, dark amber color with medium, white head. Liqueury, grainy odor. Sweet, honey, alcoholly aroma. Harsh sweet taste. Medium to full body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Grainy finish. This beer is not much better than malt liqueurs. It’s too sweet and too alcoholly, and at the same time it’s not hoppy enough, not malty, not caramelly enough. They said, it needs a long bottle maturation. Maybe after two years, it’s much different.

Tiny bottle from 2011. Pours cloudy medium to dark brown. Tastes like raisins, dates, hints of chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Sweet but not too sweet. Thick feel. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like raisins, plums, brown sugar, and alcohol.

2011 bottle. Pours murky brown with just a trace of beige head. Aroma is cookie and caramel malts, sherry, plums, floral notes, and light booze. Flavor is heavy bread malts, some toffee, light booze, dark fruit esters, and faint hop bitterness; dry finish with a little alcohol warmth. Medium body and low carbonation.

Bottle, 35.5cl, FlinkGegist. Aroma: Plums, caramel, bit of red fruit, roasted malts. Appearance: Lovely ruby red/dark chestnut brown. Wonderful cream coloured small head with medium to minimal lacing. Taste: Licorice, herbal, plums, vanilla. Palate: Busty amount of carbonation. Interesting feel and palate. Some licorice and candy alongside the hoppy, bittery ending.

Clear dark copper with a generous foamy light beige head. Dark malty sweet nose of plum and English strong malt and a touch of orange. Flavor is big and heavy with raisin and English toffee with abut of boozy dark maltiness and a faint bitterness that’s not much hoppy. A bit on the boozy side and not terribly complex, opting for a straight up malt bomb with a bit of English yeast dustiness.

Pours a beautiful, dark ruby/mahogany with a small, off-white head and slight carbonation. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, raisins, plum and alcohol. The alcohol is present, but well masked by the dark fruits. Mouth is delicious. Strong dark fruits again, mainly plum and raisin. Hints of caramel, licorice, malt and alcohol. Once again, the alcohol is present, but perfectly blended with everything else. The finish is very smooth, with almost no alcohol burn which is what I normally get with barley wines.

Dobre i pyszne piwo o slodowo winnym aromacie w smaku takze dominuje winia, namoczony biszkopt i troche miodu.

This stuff looks great, dark mahogany with a sweet nose. The malts are really smelly/good. The taste is like better than say? totally sweet messes like MM Charley-wine. As good as bigfoot. Not quite the genius of Hog Heaven. Dark fruits, chocolate covered raisins galore. A bit of a cognac hit in the trailing off. Ends like a sweet worn-in fender reverb amp. This is a really good beer. Highly recommended.

12 oz bottle pours a copper red without any head. Faint aroma of banana. Malty, sweet and licorice flavors. Noticeable alcohol.
