COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

Bottle 355ml. Poured hazy dark burnt bronze with a small, frothy, tanned head which was fully diminishing. A complex and rich aroma with fruitcake dunked in brandy, caramelized dates, figs, sultana’s, dried apricots, dark chocolate and allspice. Flavor was quite smooth with a mild bitterness, sticky toffee malts, dried mixed fruits, dark chocolate, caramelized dates, currents, muscatels, pepper, allspice and light notes of powdered ginger. Noticeable alcohol content. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation, a syrupy texture and a great length finish.

Bottle @ home. Pours with a very dark red colour, small medium lasting off-white head. Aroma is medium to heavy malty, with complex notes of caramel, fruit, nuts, and softly hoppy. Taste is heavy sweet, soft bitter. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation.

Aroma is strong from caramels and hops, but you also get some dried fruits in there. The taste is moderate malts with a brown sugar sweetness, dark fruits, a little vanilla and wood. A nice warmth settles after a few seconds. This is a well balanced and gentle barley wine that I could sip on almost every day. The sweet warmth you get from this, is like a shrouding yourself on a cold winter morning

Powerful, not to be messed with with, and very good. Coppery orange, no head. Thick and oily. Massive fruity nose. Flavours of marmalade, caramel malt and liquorice. Good barley wine - just the one though thanks.

0.355l bottle. Very dark orangish ruby body, off-white head. The aroma reminds me of a very strong doppelbock. Strong roasted malt and dark fruit character escorted by some caramel and even some chocolate. The high alcohol content is quite obvious, but not in a disturbing way. The taste is pretty much what the aroma suggests: roasted malts, toast, dark fruits and chocolate with noticable booze. Medium-full body with quite lively carbonation. Very nice beer.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Beautiful deep red colour, low off-white head. Moderate aroma with notes of dark dried fruits, hints of oak, dust and alcohol. The body is somewhat lighter than expected, which makes the beer quite drinkable. Medium sweet, nicely balanced with the hops.
