COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
On the brink of extinction, they were plucked from obscurity and thrown into the spotlight. Facing ignorance and disinterest, someone saw potential...and knew they would be big. We’re not dishing on the latest undeserving Hollywood celebutante counting down their 15 minutes. We’re talking about the big, bold, and beautiful Centennial hops. With huge floral and citrus notes, these high alpha hops are one of the the industry’s few triple threats. They can be used for bittering, aroma, and flavor, which make them perfect for our latest Single Hop Imperial IPA.

Draft @ Hoppy Loft, Brussels.

This one poured a lightly hazy peach color with a large off white head. Aroma was straight centennial hops, citric and floral with light booze and caramel in the back. Flavor was similar. Centennial hops, light alcohol, light dirt, and mild sweetness. One of my favorites of this series.

On tap at Frisco Taphouse & Brewery in Columbia, MD. Clear, bright amber with a fine off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of orange, caramel, citrus, grain and pine. Taste of orange, caramel, bread, lemon, grass and floral hops. Medium/full body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Ridgewood Wine & Beer, Raleigh. Fairly hazy copper pour, with a medium head and some sticky lacing. Sweet and bitter citrus in the nose, with a sharp stripe of booze and malt too. Mouthfeel was lightly prickly but too slick in places for me. And while I appreciated the bright fruit and piney notes in here, it seemed to be a beer that was eyeballing the ASA category on some level, making me think this might not have been 100% fresh. Decent.

Orange color beer with a foamy white head. Big candied orange peel nose. Thick mouth feel with tons of orange citrus hops, resin and candied orange peel. This is a hop candy beer that hides the claimed 10% ABV very well. Not my favorite IIPA, but tasty to a hop head.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a one finger fizzy white head that left some light lacing. The nose is bright citrusy hops with a big caramel malt background but there’s also a bit of crystal malt sweetness that is a bit off putting. The flavor is very bitter with piney hops up front, then fades to a sweet caramel malt middle. The finish redeems it a bit with its lingering bitterness. Medium bodied with some sticky resinous hops and fizzy spritzy carbonation. Not bad, but considering its peers in the style, it’s below average.

Skulle tydligen vara pinfärsk men trots det är humledoften ganska låg. Köper två i brist på bättre och inser att den är ganska tung. Börjar sluddra. Ganska onödigt att köpa två faktiskt

Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with a decent head and aromas of resin, grapefruit and honey. Flavor is pretty sticky sweet with a nice amount if centennial resin and citrus, but this is one of those malt heavy IIPAs that I struggle with a bit. Decent, but not my cup of tea... Err. Mug of beer.

Draft at Frisco Taphouse in Columbia, MD, haven’t seen any bottles anywhere in the Frederick area? Served in a goblet, orangy-golden color with small white head. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, some herbal notes and some caramel malt. Taste is aroma; adding citrus hops leaning towards orange rind and resin, nicely balanced with the caramel malt. Heavy body, low carbonation, medium bitterness, clean finish. Pretty decent, not my favorite of this line but good.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 (bottle) Clear orange, bubbling body with a large white head. Strong hop aroma, light citrus and other fruit, slight floral, herbal. Light to medium body, resin, oily feel, some carbonation. Slight sweetness up front, but overall strongly bitter; grass and fruit. Lots of lace on the glass.
