3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottle). Aroma is reminiscent of B.O. Otherwise nice golden complexion with thick white head. Nice piney and grapefruit hops with understated alcohol. Well done.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a light amber with a frothy off white head. Aroma of sweet pine and citrus. Medium body, flavour of bitter hops and spice, quite bitter and not as sweet as the aroma promised. Bitter end.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ home. Aroma is huge citra and other fruity notes, touch of grass. Flavour is medium bitterness with a big fruity citra explosion. Some caramel malt and more citra in the finish. Nice but missing that edge.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Somewhat headless cap on the expected gold color. Stinky Citra, salt air, and hints of yogurt. Excitingly spicy in flavor, very much so - one of the better uses of Citra Iíve had, with an appreciable lack of residual sweetness that the hop often allows to come through.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nive gold clean gold color. Citra aroma was more mellow then you might think. Nice clean hot flavor with the malt just givimg it a good balance. Very good clean tasting ale.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2013 Bottle. Lightly hazed golden amber body with a fine white head. I swear what I get most of with this hop is tropical fruit bubble gum. Banana liqueur comes to mind given the alcohol. Immensely fruity and sugary smelling. I know the nose can not sense sweetness level. The nose can recognize well-enough the signatures of high sugar content from the stew-y malt. Youíve got your rotting pear and apple esters mixed with your diesel-smelling fusel alcohols to create a sort of hooch character thatís rare to find outside of malt liquor. In this case you have the added bonus of fucking hops all in your face. So hereís some stupidly bitter absinthe astringency and some of that fennel / anise herb flavor to go with it. But thatís not all, because weíre also throwing in a watery body with a boozy film coating and lingering flavors of apple + shallot mouthwash.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange beer with a minimal amount of slightly beige head on top. Aroma is hoppy, but the citra does not stand out. A shame, since I really like the citra hop. Flavour is quite bitter and citrussy, with a slight hint of some alcoholic sweetness. Alchohol is hard to detect, but noticeable after drinking. Dry, medium long finish, quite a nice beer, but itís missing the citra in my humble opinion. Could be an old bottle, but for the hop character to fade completely, it has to be very old...

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled side by side with the centennial variety. Both had an identical dull golden pour with ring of near white head. I definitely prefer the aroma on this one. Big clean citrusy nose and a slightly skunky finish. Definitely more bitter than the centennial. I realize now that I REALLY dig citra for use as aroma hops, but not so much on flavoring or bittering. Still, pretty good DIPA in its own right.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ooh, was not expecting this to be such a big boy! Anyway, 100th rating for this brew, from a fresh bottle. Nose is loaded up with rindy fruit, orange and tangerine with some grapefruit, lighter resin and oil. Sickly transparent orange body with a soapy off-white head. Taste in the mouth strongly sweet but balanced by strong bitterness; the former wins out in the end. Fullish body gently cleanses the palate and leaves behind a fruity, citric aftertaste. The sugar is thick here, the hop flavor a little suppressed by it, and the requisite oils and resinous character are squeezed out entirely. Still, clean and strong, and it really does hide the alcohol quite well.
