My first perfect rated beer. Citra, citra, citra hops. This bitter, tropical, citrusy hops overpowers majority of malt presence, and the alcohol. Especially on the long citrus finish. Forget even pliney... I think this will join my top 3... And I donít even like flying dog brews in general !! Cheers-

not much better of a classic double IPA and without the extra hop kick to prove its point..citra hop sare my favorite

One of the best IPAís Iíve ever had the chance to try from this hops variety. Very nice long finish with beautiful tastes of citra throughout. Iím happy to say I was able to share this one amongst my closest of friends. I hope they can make this more regularly but only time will tell. Cheers!

Golden amber pour with a white head. Smells like grapefruit and mango. Tons of layered citrus flavor, predominately grapefruit, but not overwhelming. Followed by a light malt body to smooth out the bitterness at the end. Malt hangs on after the bitterness fades. Very well rounded beer.

On tap at Capones. Pours a glowing hazy orange color with medium to thicj off white head, good lacing Aromas of fuely citra, grapefruit, pine, light malt. Taste is unbelievable juicy and smooth for a double ipa. Literally tastes like a 6-7 percent beer. Notes of pineapple, pine, tangerine, buttery caramel and very smooth malts. Only a tad bit bitter in finish, the warming of the 10% creeps on you. Hopheads need to search this out immediately. Its severely dank.

Serving: Cask at Fire Works Leesburg. It pours a slightly hazy orange with a small, but lasting head of off white foam. Huge citrus and herbal hop nose. Great flavor. Tons of ripe orange, herbals, and a slight pine resin note. The malt adds balance and mouthfeel without adding sweetness. Very smooth on the tongue with the high ABV drying things out a bit on the back end. Drinks like a 6% beer. I have to say, one of the best IIPAs Iíve had in quite awhile.

Wow! Great citra hop aroma. Great malt taste to balance out the bitters. A little alcohol warmth at the end.

Nive gold clean gold color. Citra aroma was more mellow then you might think. Nice clean hot flavor with the malt just givimg it a good balance. Very good clean tasting ale.

On tap into a snifter at Maddyís Taproom in DC. Citra hop wallop of aroma, which was awesome. I really dig this new (ish) hop that came out of washington in 2007. I have used it in a couple of the beers I have brewed. Great representation of the hop. Clean super citrus flavors, with a just enough carmel malt backbone. Good lacing that sticks around. Just a solid representation of the hop. Well done.

Smells like youíre stepping into a pine tree processing plant! Catty, grassy and strong pine aromas rise off the crystal clear light copper body with a foamy white head. The first taste is as explosively hoppy as the aroma! Tons of resiny pine flavor followed by some grapefruit and pith. The bitterness lays down and puts your tongue in delicious hoppy straitjacket. But just as it peaks, some dark caramel and toffee sweetness comes through to balance it out almost perfectly. Then the alcohol steps up to sweep some of this away but leaves all the good parts behind. Thereís a bit of a citrusy lemon flavor in the background but itís beaten down by the heavier flavors. Needless to say, thereís a lot of bitterness left behind and the flavors make you want to take another sip immediately. Surprisingly easy to drink for a 10% ABV beer. This is one big, delicious IPA that I canít wait to try again.
