Bright citrus hop aroma. Potent bitterness with a pleasant malt richness to bring balance. Very nice overall. Lengthy hoppy finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Keg @ Grove Udderfield. Aroma of rubber / catwee and a ghostly ladies perfume rises through the ether, Lemony fizzy sherbets ABV well hidden and deceptive.. Great lacing and body for keg. Hoppy balance with the Citra coming through perfectly, tickling the tongue on finish. If I met a woman who tickled my tongue and made my legs go wobbly as much as this I’d marry her.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at esbls. Kind of orange in color. Citrus and malty aroma. The citra hops shine here with citrus and tropical varieties. Richer malts that do a nice job of staying in the back just enough.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green, London. A hazy golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, malty, tropical fruit aroma. Tastes similar, sweet, malty, tropical fruit, slightly musty. Not such a fresh half pint but still very tasty.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green on 17 Oct. Poured a hazy, light amber, with a thin white head. Aroma of butterscotch, somewhat dulled Citra hop and tinned fruit. Mango sweetness in the flavour, with some grain and grassy hop. Finish was increasing hop resin bitterness, golden syrup and bready malt. Good, but probably would have been excellent, if fresh.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours hazy gold with a nice tight head, which dissipates while lacing nicely.
Nose is the unsurprisingly citrus character of the feature hops with mango and hints of pineapple.
Medium body with great effervescence. Plenty of malty sweetness to keep the hops from being overly heavy handed while keeping them as the feature in this straightforwardly pleasant brew.
Finished with mild bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rich, slightly hazy copper and blonde tinted amber coloured body with a single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of strong alcohol, hops, pine, resin, malt with hints of some tropical fruit and pineapples. Medium to Full-bodied; Rich flavour of malt and honey up front with a large hop presence and some definite resinous and piney notes to show the character along with some of the lemongrass, sage and pineapple elements as well. Aftertaste is super pungent with a lot of alcohol, a strong malt body with a good hop balance and still some sugars that balance everything out nicely. Overall, a nice imperial IPA, but nothing special - still a touch rough around the edges and showing some good balances, but still on the pungent end of things, especially with the alcohol burn. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Tyson’s Corner (Falls Church), Virginia on 10-July-2014 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 02-October-2014.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Transfer from BA review on 5-25-13-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a golden amber color with an almost orange like hue. Upon pouring there was a two finger white head that faded relatively fast to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma was bready and malty with a moderate hop punch of a citrus, pine, and earthy smells. Mixed with these aromas are some sweeter aromas of a fruity nature, being largely of tropical fruits as well as some honeydew.
Taste –The taste begins with a biscuit malt taste and a bit of caramel sweetness. There is a nice moderate amount of a citrus hop right up front with a little bit of pine hop flavor as well. As the flavor advances flavors of a tropical fruit and some flavors of melon come to the tongue. Soon the citrus hop seems to fade while the pine hop flavor gets stronger. At the same time so too comes some earthy and herbal hop tastes. The sweeter caramel fades from the tongue while the other hop flavors grow slightly more intense in the end, leaving a moderately bitter hopped but somewhat smooth flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew was on the slightly chewier and thicker side with a carbonation level that was a little on the lower side. The thicker body and lower carbonation took nothing from the flavors and helped to create a nice base for the malty flavors as well as more earthy, pine and herbal flavors to really stand on.
Overall- A rather tasty double and quite distinct from their other single hop variety I had by them (El dorado). A very clean drinking and nicely hop balanced brew.
