El Dorado. The Golden One. The ultimate prize legions spend their lives seeking. Only a few acres of El Dorado hops were harvested this year. When our brewers came across this small bountry, they knew the search was over. With overwhelming citrus aroma, sharp hop bitterness, and a crisp, dry finish, our Single Hop Imperial IPA is your chance to enjoy the prize.

Deeper orange with white head. Aroma is full of sweet malts, citrus fruit, tropical fruit, too. Full bodied. Flavor is sweet, caramel malt, bright citrus fruit, and a bit of booze. Finish is lightly bitter with a bit of warmth. Good.

Appearance: Pours a bright hazy amber gold with a reapctible cap of tan suds a top.

Aroma: Modest resinous pine grapefruit nose and a touch skunky.

Taste: Bitter agressive hops, alcohol, spicy crystal malt. Some grapefruit as well but not all that sweet.

Mouthfeel: Very dry bubbles, average carbonation, pretty thin for an imperial.

Overall: I’m not ruling on whether or not I like the El Dorado hop based on this beer. It seemed very alcoholic and a bit thin from what I’m used to in an Imperial IPA. Cool kids love a dry Imperial IPA, but this beer needed a little bit of sweetness for my tastes.

TheJestersBeer (1667) - SWEDEN - APR 27, 2013
355ml bottle. Pours a clear deep gold, with a white head. Rich, hoppy aroma, honey, spruce, mango, apricot, caramel, herbs, blood grapefruit, marmalade. Off-dry, medium to full bodied, high bitterness, balanced CO2. Hoppy, spicy, herbal taste, spruce, grapefruit peel, apricot, sage, marmalade, caramel. Alcohol is a bit too evident, otherwise really nice. (2013-04-19)

Tap. Chunky lacing from a very light tan head, murky dark copper brown. Lots of citrus hoppiness but leans a touch sweet in the aroma with sweet light fruits and caramel. Fairly bitter but more citrus that goes into some sweeter darker stone fruits that basically tell me that this could be fresher. Medium slick body that does not finish dry or bitter enough.

Hazy, unfiltered apricot orange with an inch of white head. Aroma is deep citrus, with ruby red grapefruit and a rounded alcoholic creamsicle edge. Taste is quite a bit flatter, with more malt, and a slightly grassy bitterness that fades rather quickly.$3/12oz

@ Silenzi: diskret men frisk humledoft. Smaken är lite jordig eller örtig. Tydlig humlebeska i eftersmaken. Lång eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Black Squirrel basement. Poured a sticky copper with a nice floral smell with a little bit of citrus. Taste was very piney with a nice palate feel. Nice DIPA.

Bottle in NYC sept 2012. Clear amber beer with a small lacy offwhite head. Hoppy and dried drak fruits aroma. Similar flavour. Nice one :-)

Botle picked up at SL... Smells good. Lots of citrus, grapefruit. Bright orange in color, with an average head. Taste wise: Kind of an earthy dryness with a hop flavor but not bitter. Some citrus and grapefruit but not the dominate flavors. Nice and soft on the palate. Easy to drink, the alcohol is warming but not noticable. Overall.. I liked it, but not what I was expecting from a single hop series.

Clear golden amber with a decent white head that lingers fairly and has moderate retention... Aroma is fairly sweet, flavor has a distinct spiciness to it... Finishes moderately dry while still being big and sticky... Bready spicy warming full body...
