3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 blipp (4880) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - JUN 20, 2012Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Zingy tangerine-like citrus, pale malts, and a strange hint of anise-seed. Just a hint of alcohol bite on the palate, but otherwise rather bright and enjoyable.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 snoworsummer (461) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Pours clear copper with a foamy white head. Bitter, dry feel. Tastes tastes like raisins, peat, bark. Smells like raisins, dates, and light citrus.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sonnycheeba (1986) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Tap at brewery. Pours clear, vibrant amber with creamy white head. Aroma is cereal and cookie malts, lemon, floral and grassy hop aromas, mixed herbs, and faint spice. Flavor is hop bitterness throughout with some dry, bready malts and light fruit esters, but not enough to balance the hops; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20 adeezhop (28) - port jeff sta, Alabama, USA - APR 25, 2013
Put simply not a great representation of a dipa in my opinion, burnt flavor alcohol is evident. Coffee flavor is detected. Not terrible but not something I would look for in an imperial.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Khaggerty118 (56) - Olney, Maryland, USA - APR 25, 2013
Really the description does this beer justice. You taste one strand of hop, and its harsh. Very citrusy and bitter. There’s a reason why cascade and centennial hops are used so often, its because they are easier and friendlier to the palate (imo). It pours a nice golden yellow. A bit boozy. The aroma is not nearly as nice as say dogfish head or stone’s ipas. Im just not a fan
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Iphonephan (1324) - Virginia, USA - APR 15, 2013
From a 12 oz bottle shared at VIR. Pours a cloudy gold with an off white head. Melon and citrus aroma. Flavors more of the same. Smooth and lush mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Nice.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 spacecube (369) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 12, 2013
Golden brown pour, well carbonated, biscuity & caramel maltiness with piney & orange fruity hop bitterness. Well balanced and alcohol really well hidden. Nice indeed
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 RABinVA (729) - Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA - APR 8, 2013
Sigh, typical Flying Dog garbage juice. This is why I stick to their reserve series. Pours gold with a nice white head that leaves heavy lacing. Aroma is lightly citrus and grassy. Taste is....barely there. There’s a bit of juice, some pine. Mostly a muddled mess. Big surprise is there is no alcohol burn.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 LKay (53) - Maryland, USA - APR 6, 2013
Very bold summer fruit and citrus flavor. Almost juicy with just enough earthy bitterness to balance
