4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
From the Alpha variety pack. Poured a hazy golden amber with a tall, lightly creamy, light tan head. There were lots of carbonation bubbles rising up in the glass. There was a nice apricot/peach aroma with some sweet caramel too. There is a good hops wallop upfront with some alcohol bite too. The beer has a thick, sticky texture. There is a good bit of malt sweetness to mellow the hops. The hops lasts well into the finish with citrus bitterness and flavor. There is also a pleasing mild alcohol warmth on the finish. Excellent beer!!!!!

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared in the train with Iluvatarmilan on our way back from Amsterdam. Slightly hazy yellow color, smells really hoppy and fruity. Taste pine, hops, bitter and again pine, great taste! Body is a little bit weak for a beer of 10%ABV in my opinion. Average carbonation, thin texture for an imperial/double IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Orange body with a small white head. Whilst this is a fine beer due to its great display of pine the overal mouthfeel is somewhat thin for a dipa. In spite of the thin body this beer has a fine hopbitter aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pours cloudy orange with foamy whitish head. Incredibly bitter with that distinctive simcoe hop flavor of resin, citrus. Heavy body. Big malt profile. Excellent example of the style.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This starts with a nice big blast of Simcoe hops (as is to be expected), and pours a clear orange-amber with a dusting of white head. Very nice bitter flavor, with none of the cattiness you can get from Simcoe. The alcohol is well hidden in this beer, with just enough malt to take off the rough edges from the hop. Fairly light on the palate, with a nice long bitter finish. Overall this was a pleasant surprise in the Alpha Dogs mix pack, and Iíll be sure to pick up some more of it in the future.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear lager colour (red missing? what sort of IPA this is?) with short white head. Smells hops, and I assume is bitter. Yes, this is bitter. There is enough sweet, which I suspect is cause of high alcohol percentage. The alcohol itself does not reveal itís existence much, but itís fair to say the taste is there. Aroma is bit flat, banana, alcohol and thatís about it, but that does not make this a bad beer quite the opposite. If all IPAís would be this good I might like them even more.

12oz bottle 8/3/11 (Binnyís Downers Grove Singles Rack)-Pours an orangish amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste of pine, citrus, malt, and sweetness. This full bodied brew is well balanced and goes down really easy. Great job.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2011 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden-amber color with a huge foamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was strong pine, lemon, pineapple and sugar. The flavor was very sweet and tangy with strong notes of sugar, pine, pineapple, lemon, resin and perfume. Richly hoppy and a bit boozy. The finish was long with sugar and hops lingering forever. Full bodied. Excellent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy deep amberish orange color with a thick tall frothy head that has good retention. Hoppy nose with strong resin, pineapple, and grapefruit notes, along with malty caramel in the background. The taste is a bit more mild with some citrus and tropical notes as well as a slight malt backing. Itís a bit hot with alcohol whereas it was not in the nose. Finish is pretty dry and nicely bitter.
