I spilled this one on my jeans and beer journal and sure does stain like coffee. You can smell the heaviness of this brew. Strong bitter coffee taste all the way through and long after taste. Has hints of chocolate, but it is all about the coffee flavour. I almost found it too much like drinking black coffee. Far from being my favourite.

Thick coffee flavor with a delicate and unexpected fruity note. not much structure compared to the flavor. Pleasant and well balanced.

Take your time to drink this beer. Let every mouthfull dance around and enjoy the long lasting aftertaste.
The Imperial Coffee Stout is very dark, creamy feel and taste. Hints of chocolade and of course coffee.

Cask at Frisco Grille: The bartender assured me this was a new Flying Dog beer and it certainly didn’t taste like Gonzo or the Imperial Coffee Stout. Pours an oily opaque with a small beige airy-bubbled head. Starts with pretty good fullness and sweet dark caramel malts with some dark chocolate, molasses, and dark fruity complexity before a smooth bittersweet roasty finish with some lingering dark chocolate. A well-balanced and dangerously drinkable imperial stout.
