4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught@De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Amber looks with a slight haze and a healthily plump white head. Plenty of fresh hoppage and juicy fruit in the nose. Flavour was loaded with superb citrus and hops aplenty, tidily balanced by some sweet malt. A little hit of tartness gave way to a dry lingering bitter finish. Huuge drinkability. A cracking beer that is a fitting tribute to a great bar.

@ De Wildeman. The aroma has a lot of citric hops, some barnyard, yeast. Hazy, golden coloured beer with a white, lasting head. The taste is bitter, has citric hops, some pine. Bit yeasty as well. Medium bodied. Very drinkeable. Good brew,

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Iíve wrote about this beer on a blog already. This is just fabulous. I was lucky to drink it from cask, keg and bottle. All three just great, but I prefer the bottle over the cask, and the cask over the keg (duh).
A nice crispy almost acidly hop taste, balanced out with the rye malt and the lovely just lovely fruity saison yeast makes this beer the best IPA (may I call it an IPA please?) Iíve had in my lifetime. It is that yeast that makes the main difference between cask, keg and bottle.
Why are you still reading? Go out and get that beer!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: AUG 10, 2012 Bottle from De Bierkonink. Pours a slightly hazy, light golden colour with a very generous cream coloured head. The aroma is amazing, herbal, barnyard funk and a huge hit of fresh cut citra hops. Tastes great, some sourness and lots of grassy herbal flavours. Palate is slightly prickly and a little cloying. Lovely! (10,3,8,3,18). Also had this in a bottle from Appellation. Such great balance between sour and bitter. Quite a vinous Chardonnay tang also. Moderate carbonation and CO2 prickle with a foamy mouth-feel and a dry finish. Excellent with lingering citrusy lemon and pine notes.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2012 Bottle courtesy of cgarvieuk. Amber pour, some haze, medium bubbly white head. Big fruity hop nose with just enough Belgian funk to make it a saison. Sort of. Massive juicy hops up-front, high carbonation, fades to an IPA linger with just the tiniest trace of saison/estery flavours on the finish. 3.7......... Bottle at home. Amber pour, massive rocky white head. More funky nose than I remember, dank Citra hop character, but lots of farmyard, varnish, creamy yeast, hint of brett funk. Tangy citrus, orange peel, dry woody notes, herbal, resinous lemony hop character, big pithy grapefruit bitterness. Bigger than I remember, very nice indeed. 3.9

15 June 2011, bottle at my last cgarvieuk tasting! light gold, faintly cloudy, some steady bubbles, thin lacing. nose is a very hopped but funky saison. canít call it an IPA yet because yeast is so different from normal ale yeast. med body and mildly fizzy. saison is in there somewhere but faintly. bitter astringent lemon rind kind of dominates but interestingly the saison yeast gives an interesting twinge to citra hops. nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle thanks to Rciesla & Vtafro and their determination to get this bottle opened (it took some time). It pours hazy straw yellow, with a thin fizzy white head and rough carbonation. The nose is sweet honey, honeysuckle, lemon sherbet, sweet orange, pear drops and peach. The taste is honey sweet lemon and orange, grass, hay and pear drop sweets, with a moderately bitter-dry finish. Tastes like an IPA-Belgian tripel cross.
