Commercial Description:
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Tap @ The White Horse: Great colour and foam. Super lemon aromas, light cloves, spicy and tingly. Quite a burst of tartness on the tongue mellowing to slow bready glow but nothing much of a finish. Pretty tasty but ultimately unsatisfying.

Bottle @ Ølfestival, Esbjerg, 2009.
Pours muddy, lightly pale yellow with a small, creamy, white film head. Soft aroma, more malty than actually fruity. High carbonation, fine lightly grainy mouthfeel. Sweet and grainy flavour, light banana and a touch of oranges. Okay hefe.

Bottle 355ml. Poured muddy straw with an averaged sized, fizzy, off-white head which was fully diminishing. A yeasty aroma with bready malts, bubblegum, ripe banana, cloves, vanilla and light notes of hay. Flavor had virtually no bitterness with sweet yeasty malts, banana sweets, creamy ripe pears, cinnamon, cloves and straw. Light bodied with medium carbonation, a watery texture, creamy mouthfeel and a short length finish.

courtesy of Allen - pours a fully cloudy dark orange colour with an instantaneously disappearing foam; aroma of hay and orange peel; overcarbonated and with a moderate malt backbone; corny with notes of paper, sweet and acidic; some residual sugars in a fruity and papery finish - not convincing

Cloudy orange color; no head worth talking about. It’s got a dumb name and a Hunter S. Thompsan quote on the label, so I wasn’t expecting much. Even these hopes weren’t quite met. Sugary finish, hints somewhere of fruit and spices, but it’s lost in the... wateriness of it all.

Bottle. Pours clear light orange, not cloudy at all. Tiny head. Smells like wheat, banana. Flavor is sweet at first before retracting to spicy wheat. Highly carbonated. Not at all what I expected.

Pours a golden, cloudy hue wih a big white, fluffy head. Aroma is distinctly a hefeweizen, with notes of lemon grass, citrus, banana, and yeast. This one drinks very smooth. Has a buttery mouthfeel yet crisp and refreshing. Definetly one of my favorite hefeweizens for a hot summer day. A very solid beer from Flying Dog.

It poured a slightly hazy golden liquid with a medium sized white foam that left big chunks of lacing. It had a smell of foam banana and yeast. It had a taste of foam banana, yeast and something sweet. Smooth mouthfeel, but a bit to cold. Decent wheat beer but far from one of the better ones.
