COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Very citrusy - almost cloying sweetness. Sourness throughout. Lemons and bananas, oh my!

Very malty smell, cloudy orange color. Oddly, the malt doesn’t show up in the taste. Strong banana flavor, with some citrus too. To my way of thinking, this almost tastes more like a cider than a beer. Nice and smooth with a sweet taste, goes down easy.

From an otherwise disappointing brewery, I was expecting a typical clean American wheat. Whodda thunk this would be a near authentic German hefe? Spritzy clove aroma. Pale cloudy gold, small creamy dense head (almost like Guinness - a little weird on top of a hefeweizen). Nice refreshing clove flavor with light malt sweetness and a touch of banana. Dry, clean finish. A nice example, but not as complex as good German ones.

A nice sour filtered wheat beer.

This one was wuite confused. I couldn’t tell whether it was trying to be an american wheat or a bavarian hefe. Sweetish with odd solventy flavors and not much else going for it.

Not the best wheat beer I’ve had, but still quite enjoyable. A nice creamy wheat flavor with mild citrus notes. Easy to drink, and one I’d easily come back to.

Lemony, with mild esters. Alcohol played a role in the flavor. Cloudy gold. Not bad but not a top hefe.

Clear golden orange. Nice creamy head. Grassy, lemony nose. Chewy, but light texture. Champagne-like, fuity (bannana?, lemon), grassy, earthy. Dry spicy finish.

Very attractive apprearance, with a dark gold, cloudy body and small bubble head. Initial mouthfeel very much is reminiscent of a strong, wheaty Hefeweizen. However, this beer does not have the strong, annoying wheat aftertaste and is surprisingly drinkable. For those who like a wheat flavor to their beer without the obtrusive aftertaste characteristic of the style, this beer is for you.

Huge clot of yeast followed the beer into the glass, leaving a lot of yeast still in the bottle and making me wish I had swirled the last half inch to get all the goodies. Very cloudy straw color, minimal head, some clove in the nose. Citrus dominates the flavor. As others have said, weak on banana and clove. Decent, but even Sam Adams does this style better.
