Flavor is sweet and slightly yeasty. Not very cloying on the pallet either. I could certainly session this beer on a hot summer day. Much better than I remember actually. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Pours a hazy orangish yellow with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Lots of wheat on the nose with a few mild spices coming through. Lots of wheat and malt coming through with the flavor with touches a fruit. Crisp and refreshing finish. Nice. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Poured a cloudy orange/yellow.
The nose was deep: orange, spice, and wheat. The flavor was wheat, wheat, and a little more wheat! There’s some light orange flavor as well.
The mouthfeel was a little watery, but not overly so. It was actually ideal for the style, considering the low hops called for in a German Hefe.
All around a very good hefe! I’d definitely buy again! oh6gdx (8838), Vasa, Finland

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2008 I was skeptical when the guy working at Discount Liquor recommended this choice as a hefeweizen; my experience with American hefeweizens has not been great...mostly they’ve been thin and unflavorful beers with a hint of wheat. But this beer is thick and flavorful, with a ton of spice notes that reminded me of a Franziskaner or Hacker-Pschorr hefe.
Color was a dark amber with a good amount of head. Beer was pretty viscous, especially for a beer that isn’t dark and has this low an ABV. Aroma was malty and strongly spiced. Flavor was spiced and good - what I’d expect from a European hefe, but not necessarily from an American one. Mouthfeel was pretty thick and good. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this beer.
I enjoyed this beer and would recommend it.
I bought a 6-pack of this at Discount Liquor in Milwaukee. puggy211 (584), cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Strong acidic-like aroma of lemons and lemon-cleaner. Medium bodied. Tastes a little sour, with a big abrasive metal flavor up front mixed with the usual lemon and citrus.pretty good ChristianScheffel (4481), Odense, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Cloudy yellow with a small white head. Citrus, orange, clove and yeast in a rather weak aroma. Dryish, with bread and yeast flavours. Thin and boring for the style and for a FD brew.
