GMCC2181 (846), Bear, Delaware, USA Feb 8, 2008 Nice dark yellow color, smelled sweet. No head. Taste a little fruity but as the description said a "spicy" after taste which I was not expecting. Maybe some nutmeg. Smooth as well. Differenent but good. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Feb 2, 2008 Very good flavor for a wheat beer. Had some fruit flavored after-tones. Wasn’t watery like many other lesser quality wheat beers I have had. I would drink again but wouldn’t go out of my way to buy. Good Hefeweizen. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Feb 2, 2008 June 2006 - Call me crazy, but I really liked this! Beer poured opague yellow with a little head and little lacing. Aroma was strong banana and cloves. The flavor was likewise with a solid wheat base, bananas (and a touch of other citrusy fruits maybe?) and cloves. Add in a touch of pepper and a faint bubble gum like flavor. Very light and refreshing. A nice beer for the summertime. Finally a beer from Flying Dog that I would like to drink again! Atlove (36), USA Jan 30, 2008 In-Heat Wheat pours a hazy sunrise yellow. The head is generous but disappears quickly. Lots of wheat and banana, with a spicy and citrus finish. Different and kind of Americanized, but drinkable. BigDavesBwg (21), Greenville, South Carolina, USA Jan 27, 2008 Having spent time in Europe, I have had several real hefeweizens. This ain’t one. The literal translation of the term hefeweizen is "yeast wheat". Traditionally unfiltered, the beers are cloudy with a bananna aroma, and a good malt backbone to balance out the aroma. This beer had only a slight haze that indicated some kind of filtration, and poured a 1/4" head that vanished in seconds. No lacing, few tracers. This beer would be ok for someone who has never had a true hefeweizen. If they decide they like the style, then they could move on to true hefe beer General66 (167), Streator, Illinois, USA Jan 26, 2008 12 ounce bottle. I must admit that I was pretty excited for this beer. I have not had too many Hefe’s and was looking forward to this one. I am sad to say that my expectations were not met. Pours a hazy yellow color with a .5 finger width head that disappeared very quickly. The aroma was this beers strong point with hints of citrus, yeast and fruit. The taste was full of citrus hints with a lot of yeast that overpowered the beer. It was very light bodied and had a strange metallic aftertaste. I was very disappointed with this beer... PickettsCharge (68), USA Jan 20, 2008 hate it thetaste is horrible a bad be taste not goods pour is ok then nothin but bad ess no no no good Chapel (329), Levittown, New York, USA Jan 18, 2008 Rating 600 on this beer! Hazy golden with a thin head. Aroma and flavor are light and sweet. Light notes of corn and butter (popcorn?) with an overarching sourness.
