Commercial Description:
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Bottle courtesy of dpjuart. Big sour aroma, like a Belgian sour farmhouse ale. Mild yeasty character, light orange peel and lemon zest. Very little wheaty sweetness. Cloudy amber with thin head. Medium body with heavy carbonation - fizzy with carbonic burn. Starts with quite a citrus and funky yeast sour kick, acid malt and wheat flavor. Tangy throughout, with light yeast bitterness, lemon rinds, and mild floral hops. Not a bad beer, just not what I want in a German Hefeweizen. Doesn’t taste off, just not the style.

sour aroma, notes of green olives and spices with a metallic aftertaste. Not particularly good.

xmas variety pack, pours a cloudy golden with a smallish white head. smells of wheat and slightly of clove. Taste is wheaty with a drying lemon aspect. All in all, another average beer from this brewery.

Another bottle from the Christmas variety pack. Poured a cloudy golden yellow with a thick foamy white head. A wheat and citrus aroma. A nice crisp taste of citrus with a subtle lingering bite and bitterness. A very mild flavor.

It’s hard for me to not like a wheat, but this left me a little cold. It was little better than a mainstream beer, honestly. Good colors and head, but something is just not quite right with this beer.

Poured from a bottle. Poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. Aroma of banana and spices. Flavor starts with the banana/spice combination, but it leads into a yeasty bacon taste that is overpowering. Every time I try it I hope the bacon taste won’t be there, but it always is.

The scent is a mix of spice and banana. The flavor is more of the same with a strong yeast presence. A good hefeweizen but this style is far from my favorite.
