bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Dec 15, 2007 Slightly dusty wheat aroma with a lemon touch, and arguably yeast. Orange tinged hazy gold color with a rapidly depleting white head. Sort of ringed. Leaves lace tatters. Clove, banana, touch of lemon, and wheat. Pretty spicy. Near medium body and very mild carbonation. The banana sort of gets lost after a few swallows, and the finish is clove and light citrus. But banana tends to come back. Good wheat. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Dec 14, 2007 purchased at puget sound wine cellar in port orchard, washington.
pour is a cloudy, white with a touch of yellow, small head that leaves quickly, tiny bit of lacing.
smell is a lot of lemon, wheat, some banana, yeast.
taste is watery, lemon, tart, wheat, some not quite ripe banana.
overall pretty weak. fredjaz (108), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Dec 12, 2007 Very little aroma to speak of, nice carbonation good mouthfeel, flavor dominated by cloves especially in the aftertaste. Dough77 (771), Aurora, Illinois, USA Dec 11, 2007 Light hazey golden pour with foamy head. Nose of wheat, bannana, little bit of hop. Flavor becomes predominatley bannana. while not neccesarily a bad thing, just kind of one dimensional. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 7, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow. White fizzy head. Small. Sour wheat smell. Good wheat flavor up front that bleeds to a very sour finish. Touch of fruitiness, maybe some spice, but a predominant sour at the end. Not all bad. Ok, just not "right". A bit on the acidic/lemony side. Eh. SirSlarty (68), Reading, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 7, 2007 Not my favorite type of beer. From a bottle: taste is more prominent when you pour it right and will be very cloudy/. Very filmy in the mouth and very watery from all the yeast. Lightly banana-crisp taste. You can smell the wheat in this quite strongly. Recommend serving it very cold. Even if you don’t like this style of beer it’s quite drinkable. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Dec 6, 2007 Draft at the brewery. I am not a huge fan of very many American Wheats. Wheat aromas, not much of the bubble gum or clove. Heavy on the wheat twang though. thehinge (244), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Dec 4, 2007 Honey colored pour with a small white head that quickly dissipates. Lemony aroma. Taste reminds one a a Belgian ale...not really a wheat ale. Sweet, fruity taste on the front end. Cloves in the finish.
