Commercial Description:
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Super cloudy dull yellow-orange color. Heaping amounts of yeast gathered from the bottle of the bottle - typical wheat style funky coriander spice but lighter on the lemon/citrus that balances it out. Light on the hops but heavy on the unused yeast. Wheat beers are supposed to be pulled early, but probably just a bit too early. Otherwise not at all bad.

I like wheat beers. I did not like this wheat beer. It is now serving as my example when I make a joke about how bad some beers are.

Pours a murky orange into the wiezen glass with a small white head. The scent was gummy with wheat and some hops. The flavor was a little flat and funky at the same time. Wasn’t overyly impressed.

Bottle. After slightly stirring the bottle, there was a surprisingly large amount of sediment. The beer poured very nice with a lasting head and nice blonde color. Very pleasant aroma of citrus (orange) and yeast. The taste didn’t match the flavor. Sadly this reminded me of Blue Moon. The palate was above average and the finish was light. This is a refreshing beer but not a spectacular hefeweizen. It lacks complexity in the taste. Drinkable but I’d prefer other hefeweizens.

A very good, and inexpensive hefeweizen. The flavor and aroma are very, very fruity. I really like it, some might not. Give this a try if you’re a fan of hefeweizens.

9/8/07: Bottle.
Yellow bodied with no head or lace. Nose of wheat, pepper and clove. Flavors of yeast and bread dough, with a touch of lemon peal. Finish has a wheat bite.

Light yellow, thin head, sweet spicy aroma, light mact flavor, slightly sweet, just a hint of bitterness in the finish, and just a touch of wheat character in the final sip
