Commercial Description:
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Haha, I’m glad I didn’t rate this already. Wasn’t my first pick tonight, but the selection was so-so and I thought I hadn’t rated it. Disappointing, but at least I can tick this sucker. Pours slightly hazy orange golden with almost no head. More like a soda’s carbonation. Not what a hefe should look like. Big banana nose and lots of wheat... but not much yeas. Just banana and wheat, really. Sweeter than most. Not very good.

Classic Hefe scents of banana and clover. Appearance was somewhat translucent with scant head. Flavor of banana and cloves, but not evenly dispersed. All the flavor seemed up front, all overture and little opera. Palate is lively. A beer that could use some tweaking to get to a higher level.

355ml bottle. Honey coloured and clear with good carbonation and a small white head. Bubblegum, cinnamon and clove aromas bring a sweet joy to the nose. Flavoursome and fills the whole mouth and lingers long on the palate.

Bottle. Fizzy, white head that disappears. Pale gold body that is cloudy. The aroma has notes of banana and clove with hints of toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, Its textures starts slightly full and sticky, but turns watery. Lively carbonation. Decent hefe, though it lacks that nice, slightly acidic bite in the finish that the best hefeweizens have, leaving it on the sweet side from beginning sip to end.

July 2008 Beer of the Month.

Overall Impression: It’s got an interesting aroma and flavor, and is an all around solid wheat beer. It’s kind of annoying that the beer of the month club send beers from down the street that I can clearly get in stores near me, but whatever...

From 12 oz. bottle. Pours deep cloudy yellow with medium head. Lemon, yeast, bread, not quite what I am seeking in this style. Thin to medium body and slightly bitter. Tried several of these over a weekend and just could not get myself to enjoy them. Crafty packaging, just not very good craft beer in my opinion. Would not purchase again, nor would I take one if offered. Maybe it’s good on tap?

12oz bottle. Cloudy dark yellow color with a large white head. Nose is light cloves with some lemony notes and hints of banana esters. Palate is a little thin and fizzy. Flavors are lightly peppery and lemonywith some nice yeasty notes to it.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma and flavour of banana bread, yeast and cloves. It’s quite low in esters and rather thin bodied. It’d be refreshing on a warm summers day though.
