Commercial Description:
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Golden blond with a cloudy mix in the body. Slight spice and yeast with a hint of citrus. No clove or coriander in the body nor banana. Seemed a little watery or thin but this was still refreshing during an 80+ degree evening. Finished smooth and semi-sweet. Worth trying.

Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is banana like and yeasty, and the flavour is yeasty, banana and lightly dry. Overall a nice beer.

Good fruity - almost ale-like aroma. Low marks for appearance - little head and no cloudiness. Yeasty, fruity flavor with average mouthfeel. Overall, not a bad domestic Heffy - does not compare with most imports however.

Cloudy orange with sediment. Aroma seemed classically clove and banana, but a lethery yeastiness developed. Taste had some pleasant sweet wheat, or even oats, but the metallic carbonation rather overpowered it. A nod towards the style rather than a faithful copy. It was fair but not memorable.

12 oz bottle purchased at John’s Grocery in Iowa City. Slightly hazy golden color. Head was bubbly and white with good retention, but only minimal lacing. Aroma was of clove, citrus, cereal grain, and caramel. Slightly sweet up front with dominant clove disguising the malty/wheaty backbone. These flavors give way to delicate citrus, but the clove returns at the end and lingers with a touch of sweetness.

Bottled. Cloudy golden color, short white head. Aroma is very grainy, some yeast, hint of banana and hop. Thick grainy taste, yeast, quite bitter. Very heavy on the stomach.

Average wheat beer. A bit watery and no flavor depth. Seemed too sour and just lacked a good wheaty punch.

Bottle. Wheat banana aroma. Golden yellow color - cloudy with small head. Sweet banana and clove flavor. Not bad - an average Weizen - very good for an American Hefe.
