12oz bottle into Le Guiness - nose is grassy caramel. Sips enhances the grassy/weedy character. Mild to mild heavy bitterness with less sweetness. Not a winter warmer in my book, but more of an off season warmer. Spicy bouquet of nutme or cinnamon or some other potpourri variety.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a clear brown amber with a small white head. Slightly sweet, malty aroma. With a sweet, spicy, malt with a bitter aftertaste.

Clear, medium amber body with a rather small, bubbly, off-white head that almost disappears completely, ok lacing. Strong and sweet aroma of sweet caramel, dark dried fruits and fresh fruits, especially well ripe banana. Moderate sweet taste with a long, moderate bitter resinous finish. Moderate flavour of caramel, dark dried fruits, plum, alcohol and hints of banana. Medium body, smooth texture, soft to moderate carbonation. A nice one. Maybe I’m finally beginning to appreciate English strong ales.
[35.5 cl bottle, from Vinmonopolet Ullevål, Oslo]

De color marrón con destellos rojizos y espuma de escasa consistencia. Aroma a malta, caramelo y especias. Cuerpo medio, un poco oleosa y sin mucho gas. En boca dulce y maltosa, con algo de nuez y especias. Aunque el alcohol está bien integrado si que es fuerte y con carácter, ideal para los días fríos

Bottle at home. Pours a clear reddish amber colour with a light beige, creamy, medium head. Aroma of dried fruit, cranberries, nuts, wood, caramel, maple syrup, leather and some chocolate. A bit on the sweet side. The flavour has more nuts, fudge and still a malty touch. Sweet and light. Has a silky mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A little boring beer compared to other Flying Dog beers. Is balanced and sweet with a pleasant aroma, but the taste is surprisingly light.

Flaske fra vinmonopolet. Klar brun farget, medium karbonert. Liten hvit skumtopp. Smaker røstet malt, karamell, gjær , korn, krydder, frukt, overmoden appelsin. En ganske god øl

Aroma-delicate, roasted apple and nuts, cinnamon Appearance-rich caramel orange, average foam, CO2 ok Taste-classic Doppelbock, roasted not smoked, could be a session beer if your head is strong :-) Palate-nice bitterness with more share of hops than alcohol, slightly better than Paulaner Salvator Overall-a good beer but not for me since I can buy Paulaner Salvator almost 8 times cheaper. 355 ml bottle, Drinks of the world Zurich.
