Mid-brown with fluffy off white head that soon collapses. Strong spicy hop aroma with some metallic notes. Quite alcoholic which catches on the throat on way down. Definitely one of the poorer English style Barley Wines. Fairly high carb.

33cl @ bottle. Aroma scarso, birra natalizia abbastanza atipica ma che non mi convince appieno. Stufa abbastanza in fretta e si sente troppo l’alcol.

Bottle from Bottlecraft, Hanley. Pours ruby red brown with an off white head. Warming, bock like sweet strong ale. Moreish.

Fles van het het fust gedeeld met lion. Donker bruin met een crème kraag. Een beetje caramel zoetigheid in de afdronk wat salmiak. Beetje anoniem biertje.

Sold as Flying Dog K-9 Winter Ale The beer looks amazing. The color is a beautiful very dark ruby red. It has a very beautiful red, almost purple glow. The beer is quite clear. The beer pours a normal layer of soft almond colored foam. There most of the foam collapses very quick. A minuscule amount of foam remains on the beer. The beer smells amazing. I smell a delicious bitter sweet anise/licorice aroma. I love this in s beer. There are also some fresh hops in the smell. There is a minimal touch of roasted barley, only very minimal. The smell is a nice blend between sweet, bitter and sour. Great. The taste is nice. I taste a lot of licorice, some roasted barley and some almondy alcohol. There is also a fruity citrusy hop aroma. The beer has a very rich flavor. It is really suitable for the winter. The finish is long and bitter, and has a little flavor of licorice to. It is delicious.

355ml bottle. Sweet blackcurrant aroma. Pours dark brown with a medium off white head. Very sweet brown sugar, cherries and blackcurrant flavours. Medicinal texture. Sweet and malty finish.

Pours a mahogany color with a long-lasting white foam head. Aroma is caramel and toffee, and something a little off, something sharp. Flavor is sweet caramel with that same something off. I can’t quite put my finger to it. Has a smooth creamy body. It’s decent.

Dark brown colour, medium head thas does not hold for too long, leaving a tiny lace. Smell of aniseed, clove and some caramel, in a confusing mix. Medium body, good carbonation. Taste of dark fruits, clove, aniseed, everything confusing too. Not the best Chrismast beer at all. Bitter finish.

Malty and sweet. Fairly strong geel to it, maybe not quite where it feels like an english barley wine.
