Very easy drinking for a strong ale. Nice clean and crisp bite, alcohol does not come through. Nothing to seek out, but very sessionable

33 cl systembolaget. Sambon köpte hem ett par till juklappsbytet och då insåg jag att jag missat att regga denna goding.

Served in sampler at brewery. Minimal white head, dark amber beer. Bitter taste and overly bitter finish. Decent strong ale but not outstanding.

[6150-20140124] Bottle. Bitter toasted grains aroma. Clear, amber orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter grainy flavour. Medium body. Interesting. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

A decent winter ale. Very flavorful with strong malt and hopps backbone. Not overly spiced. Pours reddish brown with a tan head. Had at bittles and cans ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is not really doing it for me. It has an exaggerated malt profile that just tastes kind of worty and weird to me. It is cloudy orange brown w/ a short lived head. It is just really sweet w/ a ton of harsh grain husk taste and just loads of simple tasting sugars. This beer is honestly a bit difficult to drink even slowly. I appreciate good malty beers but this is a swing and a miss for sure.

Flaska från SB. Kola, fudge och karamell i doften. Karamellig smak med bra beska. Torr avslutning.

from draft, poured a clear amber colour with a white head, malts, spices, apple, i’m getting a lot of pumpkin?, caramel, nuts, dried fruit, candy sugar, small hop hint, nice to try once

Similar to Fullers 1845, but with a clean-ness that edges it towards doppelbock with intense, breadcrusty malt. Dry finish makes it very drinkable for 7.4%, and somewhat tea-like.

Aroma is sweet from the malts and some raisins and nuts. The taste is pretty straight forward clean malts that transforms into a mid-fruity finish. In the end of the aftertaste I actually pick up a hint from marzipan that quickly runs by, and that’s the highlight in this brew. Decent and straight forward but not that superb that you are used to with Flying Dog.
