Bottle from Utobeer. Pours an unappetising shade of brown and rather murky with no head. Aroma of dried fruit and a whack of resinous hops. Thick, sweet malt with a balancing bitterness. Much better than the appearance suggested it would be.

From notes: Poured ruby red with a small, bone-colored head. Aroma of piney hops, caramel malt and some spices. Medium-bodied with mild depth and a slightly lingering finish. Flavor of caramel malt mixed with mild piney hops, and some spice notes beneath.

Pours a medium copper, hardly any aroma. Flavor is....not really of anything. I like Flying Dog but this is mediocre.

Bottle. Pours copper with poor head retention. Malts, spice and a dry finish. Unbalanced and a too thin.

Dark, malty aromas of bread, rasins, black liquorice and roasted nuts. Pours a deep burgondy color with thin foam at the top. Smooth flavor of roasty nuts, spices, bread, oats and barley. For a malty beer, it is incredibly smooth and thin in texture. Masked carbonation, covered by a nice plethora of flavors. Overall, this is a well-done brew with a great malty flavor. I’d give this a B- rating.

Creamy off-white head with a clear amber body. Lightly caramel, sweet aroma. Heavily bitter, moderately sweet flavour: unbalanced. Not bad, but not very pleasing. The bitterness lasts very long and is almost annoying.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours transparent copper with one finger off-white head that dissapates quickly. Little lacing, medium/light body, a little rough texture, and spicy aroma. Taste is caramel malt, some spice, and a light bitter hop finish.

0.355l bottle from myBrewerytap. Pours a clear just lovely looking deep mahogany/chest nut-brown body with a small quickly sidesticking beige head. Nice sweet aroma with chocolate, cocoa, tons of malt sweetness, red fruits and more subtle hints of cardboard and perhaps even some alcohol. It has a light oily texture - surprisingly thin actually, and a average carbonation level. Not too sweet in the flavor, though it’s quite malty and caramelly. Sweet biscuits with a herbal influence and some nutty hints. Finish and aftertaste is like after you have swallowed cold, burned coffee - just in a good way. Really well camouflaged alcohol. Interesting enough this one. Light drinkable as well, but for me, a bit to light-bodied to be a proper winter beer. More like a pre-spring beer. 22.02.2012
