jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Mar 29, 2009 2008 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Hazy gold with a small off-white head. Aroma is of corn, light fruit, grain, and yeast. Taste is of malt, grain, corn, and yeast. hoppopotamus (182), Santa Cruz, California, USA Mar 28, 2009 A hazy golden beer with a small white head that doesn’t last. A sweet aroma of light fruit, belgian yeast, and an earthy hay smell. Flavor is a bready malt with some peppery spicy notes and some yeast and alcohol. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thick and chewy, considering my above description. Hey, I am not a huge belgian fan, but you put this next to westmalle and I’m not sure I’d have a clear favorite. Massively under-rated by trappist snobs, in my opinion! blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Mar 27, 2009 bottle thanks to bu11zeye, yellow in color withno head, aroma of fruit and band aids, flavor is a corny sweet grain and sugar BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Mar 27, 2009 2008 Bottle provided by bu11zeye. Pours with a small, white head that vanishes over a golden body. Aroma of of pear, coriander and candi sugar. Taste is candi sugar, dried fruits and a few spices. Very lively carbonation.
Nothing too complex about this tripel. l1br4r14n (274), Washington, Washington DC, USA Mar 27, 2009 A truly unremarkable Belgian Tripel. Fits into the style okay, but not very interesting. linc33 (177), Albany, New York, USA Mar 25, 2009 In a bottle from a mixpack (!). Extremely disappointing; odd flavour and lack of body followed by an undisguised alcohol finish. Avoid. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Mar 16, 2009 7 oz nip bottle, a gift from my friend Ryan, Nose of yeast, candi sugar, and light cloves and bubblegum. Bright clear, yellow gold with a medium white head. Flavor has light sweetness, some spiciness, and light bitterness in the background. Not nearly a good tripel, but i could drink it as their are no bad flavors or odors coming through. GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Mar 11, 2009 I find this pretty disappointing--flying dog seems to have gone downhill in my book. Tripels are one of my favorites, but I won’t drink this one again. Lots of carbonation but almost no head. The flavor has a good bit of cardboard to it, with a thin body. Some sweet malt in the finish, but not enough to really make it good.
