Oct 29, 2009 Poured from bottle (cool label) into Tulip.
Mostly clear light orange with nice head retention and slight lacing.
Slightly sweet smell with cloves, pepper, banana and light hops. Alcohol becomes pretty noticeable as it warms.
Banana, clove and vanilla upfront, then turns pretty sweet at the end, but leaves a nice peppery aftertaste. Slight alcohol taste noticeable throughout. Slightly cloying.
Moderately high carbonation, medium body but seems thick and syrupy.
Nice Tripel overall, but the alcohol may be a tad too noticeable. This is a wide ranging style, but this reminds me somewhat of Tripel Karmeliet, but not quite as good.

Oct 26, 2009 7 ounce bottle from Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA. 2008 Vintage. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a moderate frothy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of nutty bread notes with booze and caramel. Taste is caramel, bread, nuts, spice, apple and other dry fruit notes. Medium bodied.

Oct 16, 2009 Bottled. A dark golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has ntoes of spices, yeast, and fruits - especially peaches. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol, as well as medium notes of malt, spices - primarily coriander, and fruits - primarily peaches and pomerans. OK, but not great.

Oct 12, 2009 12 oz. Lightly hazy golden with a small head that tries to last. Aroma is candi sugar and Frosted Flakes. Flavor is sweetened cereal, with a hard-candy and lemony, medicinal finish. Light-medium body is drinkable and almost dry.

Oct 11, 2009 found via the 7oz 8 bottle multipack. pours straw yellow with a fruity and alcohol heavy aroma. taste is strongly of sweet alcohol sugars, like a whiskey or rum. not bad, but the real things from belgium are much better.
