Bottle. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of sugar, malts, alcohol, some fruitiness. Flavour is sweet, malty, with just a little hint of sour- and bitterness. Finish is a little alcoholbitter. Mediumbodied. Sweetness sticks, becomes cloying towards the end. OK, but no more than that.

12oz bottle from Parti-Pak Liquors (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a hazy amber color with thin white head. Aroma is malty and sweet with notes of caramel, toffee, brandy and cough syrup. Flavor is sweet and somewhat bitter with some caramel, wet hay, apple, over-ripe pear, and ripe fruit. Generally medium body with a slightly sweet finish.

Bottle. Slightly hazy light golden body with a short, rapidly diminishing white head. Spicy, sweet aroma of orange, sugar, honey and a hint of clove. Also hints of bread and flowers. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. The finish is dry, moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Alcohol warming in the finish, too. Medium body with a watery texture and lightly carbonation. A little too balanced toward sweet and lacking the complexity of a top-notch tripel. Average.

12 oz bottle from a mixed 4pack from Spirits on Rt 9 in Toms River. Ok once again a good amount of notes but not needed on this beer. In short its drinkable and has some basic notes of a tripel but this beer is about what I expected from Flying Dog. Worthy of a tick but not worth seeking out.

Pours a lightly hazed orangy gold with a fine thin dense white head. The nose is peppery with a hint of spice and alcohol, very light sweetness. Medium body, lower carbonation without very much Peppery and spice pop out over some flowery hops and alcohol. Very light malt, without much malt. Not a ton of depth, but lots of lingering pepper, making this kind of refreshing, which is odd for a tripel.
