The Dan Journal #207. Tasted 7/21/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a bright golden hue. Thick ring of white head. Banana bready aromas. Notes of apples. Medium bodied with an estery yeasty flavor. Bitter citrus notes with a touch of banana. Decent attempt!

Pours a one finger white head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Cloudy amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Fruity nose. Flavor is lightly fruity and caramel. Higher ABV is totally hidden. $2.90 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA.

Flying Dog makes some very excellent beers so I had high expectations for this one. Poured cloudy gold with a medium white head and modest lacing. Nose of yeast and sweet malts. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is yeasty as well with citrus and banana in the background. Shows alcohol in the finish. Kind of average for the type I would say.

Small white head, dies quickly, no lace. Hazy gold color. Nose is lightly sweet malts, faintly spicey. Med/light body, oily on the palate, coating, lifeless. Sweet malts, sugars, lightly bready, doughy. Lightly sweet and spicey finish.

Pours a semi-clear pale orange with almost no head. Notes of banana, lemon, and a sweet belgian style yeast. Alcoholic, with spicy hops and a bit grainy. Nothing really all that special here. Other than another sweet label.
