| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Honey golden robe, completely clear yet with small sediments. The head quickly disappears. Spicy yeast aroma with noticeable maltiness for a tripel. Sweetness to come and it comes indeed, but is not as bad as anticipated. Instead manages to stay on a banana bread, coriander and herbal range of flavours which don’t evolve a lot, but go in smoothly, with almost no trace of alcohol at all. Light-bodied and not so engagingly carbonated, but competent cerealic pils malt and lasting yeasty finish. Not a bad tripel, probably better than I expected. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 20, 2008 12oz. bottle, marked vintage 08AA. Sweet, floral aroma, malty, fruity and sugary with notes of honeysuckle perfume, faintly spicy, doughy yeast, pear, white grape, clove and some lighty herbal hop. Deep golden amber in color, head fades to near-nothingness. Flavor is predominantly malty and sweet, plenty of honey and sugary touches throughout, with a certain citric, tropical fruitiness, peppery spice, bubblegum and a gently bitter, alcoholic finish. Some lingering tobacco. Palate is syrupy and nearly devoid of carbonation, body is full enough. A rather pedestrian Tripel. jbrus (4916), Delft, Netherlands

Sweet, bitter, hint of fruity sourness, quite malty, citrus. Pretty alcoholic, flat. Bit nasty bitter in the finish. Quite plain. Ernest (4515), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is light amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs), moderately yeasty (basement), with notes of gum and alcohol.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
A basic rendition, but thankfully neither overly sweet nor spiced. Better than expected. JFGrind (1361), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 20, 2009 Sampled Kerberos and for a Tripel named after a three headed hellhound I think it was missing some umph. Pale yellow body, micro lip of foam some spice, lemon peel, yeast and a need for a stronger malt presence. michael-pollack (2761), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Pours golden without much apparent carbonation, reasonably thick (but not as vivacious as I like in a tripel). Sweet fruitiness with a hint of spice, but really lacking depth through the palate. Notable alcohol, not like an effervescent alcohol and more like gasoline. Not especially good, though drinkable in a pinch. I had it with a butternut squash ravioli, which wasn’t especially brilliant as a combination but not bad either. Bottle.
