| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2009 A hazy golden beer with a small white head that doesn’t last. A sweet aroma of light fruit, belgian yeast, and an earthy hay smell. Flavor is a bready malt with some peppery spicy notes and some yeast and alcohol. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thick and chewy, considering my above description. Hey, I am not a huge belgian fan, but you put this next to westmalle and I’m not sure I’d have a clear favorite. Massively under-rated by trappist snobs, in my opinion! Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Smells flowery, lightly fruity. Pours yellow with a pinkish tint. A bit watery but overall very enjoyable, lots of fruity notes here, very refreshing summer beer. nerdrocker101 (102), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden, orange body with a moderate bubbly head. A light aroma of citrus and spice. Flavors of bread, sweet citrus, spice notes and light alcohol. Sweet and somewhat spicy overall. A light mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. I found this to be very drinkable, maybe not the world’s greatest triple, but I enjoyed it. Bonster (122), Jersey Shore, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours a light orange gold. Little to no head and no lacing. Pretty light for a triple but very drinkable. Nice sweetness and a touch of spice. Not quite like other tripels, pretty simple, not much complexity...almost reminded me of a wheat beer. Aside from that I am a big fan of the overall flavor and the brew. whartonbrewer (30), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Wonderful yeasty quality expected in a tripel. Much less carbonated than expected from a Belgium style - perhaps it’s not bottle conditioned. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Nice inviting aroma of cloves, banana, and spices. Hint of the alcohol. Head completely disappears, but body is golden and brilliant. no lacing whatsoever. Taste is flat, banana, cloves, and spices. About what you’d expect from the aroma. There is a slightly interesting hoppy finish, but short lived. Some Flying Dogs are amazing, like the Gonzo, and others, like this, are still interesting, but just okay as a craft offering. fidelis83 (734), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Pours cloudy honey with thin white head that fades quickly but leaves a little on the rim. Aroma is yeasty and grassy almost like a good hefeweizen. Flavor is a little citrusy, pretty sweet licorice, peaches!?! for a second then licorice again. Palate lacks the viscous syrupy feel of a good tripel but is probably great for people new to the style.
