jmw141 (81), Canton, Illinois, USA Jun 22, 2008 Bottle pour. Murky Amber orange hue with some large particles. Small white head leaves no lacing and fully diminishes. Moderate malt aroma with some chocolate and straw. Also smells or ginger, nutmeg and clove and perhaps mint. Heavy sweetness up front along with some spice and light bitterness in the end. Medium body that is almost syrupy and chalky. Alcohol is hidden well.
mybrainhurts (184), North Dakota, USA Oct 13, 2008 Dusty, fruity, with Belgian yeast aroma. Candy and sugar on my lips. Fruity, acidic, citrus peel flavors. Almost sticky sweet at the end. Doesn’t define itself from other better known Tripels and it’s lacking something. This is just ok for me. redlem (1111), Illinois, USA Oct 13, 2008 Clear light orange color with no head.
This was raw and unrefined down to the malts. While some may like this bottled before its time taste this was nasty. There was a raw barley and sugar taste to this that was very bad and no amount of bottle -conditioning could cover up. Ugh. harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 11, 2008 Bottle at EBF 08. Gold, slight haze. Thin white head. Belgian yeast aroma. Great tangerine. It’s then quite soft sherbert hop. Hops are good and balanced tangerine fruit, sherbert hop and Belgian yeast really works. Really interesting. markas101 (355), Fargo, North Dakota, USA Oct 10, 2008 33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND. Golden colour, floral notes, nice and thick consistency. Smooth, pretty mellow, with a warming finsih of alcohol and spices. Rciesla (910), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a golden body with a white rocky head. Yeast and bread, spices of clove and pepper, malty sweetness a hint of apple and candi sugar. good beer.
