This was a really nice coffee stout, with full, roasty malt flavors and a good, robust, quality coffee flavor which stays with you from start to finish, lingering for a good aftertaste.

355ml bottle (Hilpea Haukki, Helsinki)
Black, large tan head. Nice bitter coffee aroma, fits in with the roast very well. Alas it’s beany in the taste, not as good as the aroma. Smooth palate, soft carbonation. Finish nicely roasty and wweet, but again the coffee comes over as beany again. Passable, but not wowing me.

(Bottle, 0.355 l, at Hilpeä Hauki, 20120605) The beer poured black. Its head was quite large and light brown. Aroma had roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were coffee, roasted malts, sweetness, hops, liquorice and bitterness. Aftertaste had roasted malts, coffee and quite strong bitterness. A bit messy and unbalanced.

Bottle, Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Good looking Steadman artwork on the bottle. Black pour and pretty much headless with it. Superb coffee in the nose. Almost smelt better than the real thing ! Flavour had notes of chocolate, malts and more coffee. Satisfyingly smooth and fullish mouthfeel. Big roast linger. Cracking beer.

Bottled from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Black appearance, brown head. Very nice nose of malts with loads of coffee, some chocolate. Complex malty flavor, coffee again, some lactic notes, sweet and bitter. Creamy mouthfeel, lasting finish. Fantastic brew, one of their absolute best.

De color negro y una espuma marron poco densa y poco persistente. Aroma a rasted malts, chocolate, cafe, madera. Sabor igual que aroma pero al final deja un toque a frutos seco, madera y cafe. Cuerpo medio, carbonatacion baja y final poco amargo y ligeramente seco

This is an amazing beer. Full of complex flavors, and maybe too much for some people. I love this beer it has flavors of, coffee, chocolate, nuts. Too bad it’s only a limited run

4 finger mocca-colored head that sinks to 5 mm, black body. Nose: Strong coffee, charcuterie (meaty), chocolate and licorice. Aroma: Strong coffee, licorice, licorice-root, ash, chalk and dark chocolate. Clean and powerful aromas. Long ending with some bitter bite.

Cask style. Nice dark brown-black color and clear coffee scent with a bit of sweetness... sort of like a coffee sweetened with flavored cream. Decent enough palate for a cask stout, which don’t seem to have the heavy body of non-cask stouts. Practically no lacing. Taste was sweetish yet medicinal coffee-stout, with fair enough lingering taste and nice warm throat feeling from high alcohol level.

coffee & chocolate mousse in a non-sticky black motherfucker of a 9% beer with no hints of alcohol whatsoever = ImpStout perfection. Almost no carbonation, opaque dark brown. Creamy Kahlua with culture, classy iced coffee to round off the night.
