Odd one this is. When in the mouth has a full body flavor of warm, creamy, chocolate, mocha coffee like. Also some caramel and vanilla, together with the roasted malts ofcourse. The weird part is the finish. It’s almost like the flavor vanishes and leaves a watery substance. Keeps it fresh and almost gives you a neutral pallet for the next sip, but i’d like a little more finish to it ... the lingering is missing.

Bottled 355ml. -from Za Popen’t Pivoteka, Ljubljana. Black coloured, small brown head, light smoke and coffee in the nose. Roasted malt, roasted coffee and dark chocolate with mild notes of vanilla and wood. Alcohol well hidden, dry roasty finish. Very smooth.

Bottle from TWM Sterling - pours pitch with a tan head. Aroma is coffee and malt. Taste is sweet with a dry finish. This is one of the few Flying Dog Beers that I actually like. Shocker.

Bottle, 35.5cl, Online. Aroma: Coffee, chocolate, red peppers, whiff of alcohol. Appearance: Very, very dark brown/black. Dark brown head with minimal lacing. Head disappears fast. Taste: Roasted malts, roasted coffee, lots of chocolate. Palate: Tip of the tongue carbonation from the coffee. Chocolate lasts and lasts. Medium/thick body. Dry finish.

almost black colour, minimal brown head; aroma and taste of coffee, roasted malt, some raisin...and coffee again, long lasting aftertaste of heavy roasted coffee.

Pours in dark body with creamy foam. The aroma has some chocolate with oak-like background. The taste follows the aroma, with sweetness upfront and coffee in the background. Little bit harsh on the coffee tones I’d say. Alcohol well hidden, almost no roastiness too. Body is full with light carbonation. Easy to drink.

Bottle. As black as black can be. Just a fizzle of carbonation, and not much of a standing head. Killer aroma of pure java, followed up with a delicious, stark coffee character ... tight, dark chocolate, and smooth bitterness. Damn, I love this stuff. (#5042, 5/27/2013)

Tap @ Ochutnavkova pivnice. Pours clear black liquid with tan head. Aroma is very fruity, with hint of coffee. Taste is very sweet, with little bit of bitterness. Full bodied with average canbonation. Sticky texture with abrupt, full of coffee finish. Exquisite stout, very drinkable.

Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, caramel, choclate, coffee, cacao beans, light vanilla.
Sweet and full body, perfectly carbonation flavor is molasses, dark roast coffe, black malt, and bitter with a long nice aftertaste. Big flavours, no flaws.
Excellent.
