GMUcrew7 (158), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 2, 2008 Updated: May 4, 2008 Pours a very nice amber color with small light tan head. The aroma is mild maltiness, with a solid hop presence. The flavor is similar, the sweet malts are the initial flavor, ending with the hops. There are also hints of a home brewed flavor. In my opinion this is a tough style of beer to master and this is a decent amber.
McGarnigle (150), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle 221FX08. Pours clear amber/red with beige head. Smells a bit like a lager (German hops). Initial thought on taste was this is an English ale. Malty more than bitter (low IBU). Some caramel, some butterscotch. It is fairly clean by the standards of an ale. Not a bad beer, but why claim it’s a a lager. The_Captain (251), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2008 On tap in MD brewery- Clear rich amber pour with off white head. Mild hops aroma. Caramel malt flavor with a slight hops edge. Barley earth quality, smooth and very drinkable with some sweetness towards the finish.
