Aromatically I did not get the full effect of the oysters. The flavor is nice as it has a nice licorice smoked flavor with a nice balance of the dry hops and the dark malt. The beer had little lacing and a minimal body, so I would not give the appearance higher than a 3 rating.

Dark brown on the side, but almost black once fully poured. Nice head with a bit of lace on the sides of glass. Aroma: roast barley, caramel. Taste: burnt coffee (roast barley) caramel followed by a bit of minerals coming through. Body is mostly full. Slightly sweet. Over all, very good. The light sweetness and malt and barley is balanced very well, with with the final mineral aftertaste. I will buy again.

Bottle: Deep amber coloured with stable tanned foamy layer, dry toasty nose, molasses detectable; moderate dryish bitter flavour with a light acidity; dry roasty and chocolatey finish, accompanied by a malty bitterness. Good…

12oz bottle. Well, I like oysters and I like stout, so how can this go wrong? Very dark, hint of ruby color. small tan head that dissipates to the sides. Very nice cocoa and roast aroma. Nice tasting, smooth, little bit of carbination bite. Bit of cocoa in the finish.

Dark bown body and bubbly creamy tan head. A 5.5% stout.. can’t be very rich, right? Well the aroma is rich enough with cacao, tea, seaweed, herbal candy and some roast. And the taste is actually quite rich and special. An interesting dry mouth feel, but it’s not really my kind of thing. So I was wrong in my original assumption, but still not too crazy about it. (33cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden)

i had another oyster stout years ago and loved it, which is odd since i dont like oysters, so had to try another. and with flying dog, you know you cant go wrong. this one is fantastic-rich, malty, cocoa and toffee notes, no oyster-ness that i can tell. really good.

The head is creamy and brown, the body black. It smells roasty, nuts, full bodied, maltaromatic, chocolate-coffee. The taste is full bodied, aromatic-creamy, roasty, coffee-aromatic-sweet, sweet-roasty. Very tasty, very good!

12 oz. bottle. Pours deep brown with a soapy khaki head that dissipates to a wispy film and collar. Aroma has light chocolate malt and toasted nut and fruitiness. Taste has toasted malt and dry bakers chocolate with some nuts and fruit. Palate is medium/full with a dry coating finish. This is solid!

Very normal. Am I normal? Was that Neds? I think it was. Saw them a couple of years back playing God Fodder from start to finish. Bought my mate who lives in Oz and loves them a t-shirt, it’s still sitting in my t-shirt drawer never worn. God I’m boring myself.
