COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flying Dog Brewery will celebrate its 20th Anniversary a few months early on Friday, September 25th (the brewery turns 20 next year). The brewery will be sampling the new Raging Bitch Belgian-style India Pale Ale at the Flying dog Brats And Gonzo party in Denver that day as part of the Great American Beer Fest happening that week (unscramble the FBAG acronym to get GABF). More info about the fest can be found on the official Flying Dog blog. The beer also appeared on draft at this past weekend’s Gonzofest party. Al from Hop Talk was in attendance and reported on his blog, “I understand it’s made from an augmented Snake Dog wort with an exclusive Belgian yeast strain (called Diablo) and dry-hopped with a load of Amarillo hops. They’re calling it a Belgian IPA. It was really good. It had that hop bite from a big, bad American IPA with the banana and bubblegum from the Belgian yeast.” Some may remember a beer called, Raging Bitch Birch Beer, that Flying Dog introduced on April 1st. Whereas that low-gravity series beer was a joke, this beer is anything but at 8% ABV (60 IBU). Propaganda from the label: “Two inflammatory words…one wild drink. Nectar imprisoned in a bottle. Let it out. It is cruel to keep a wild animal locked up. Uncap it. Release it…stand back! Wallow in its golden glow in a glass beneath a white foaming head. Remember, enjoying a RAGING BITCH, unleashed, untamed, unbridled – and in heat – is pure GONZO!! It has taken 20 years to get from there to here. Enjoy!” – Ralph Steadman

Great beer! Right on point. I was very impressed and loved it all the way through. The IPA style was really working magic and I was suckered in and now Im a believer in this one. The palate is saturated but in a great way if u are an IPA hoppy lover. Spicy, hoppy, floral, spice and back of sweet candy, just a hint. Delicious, the color was awesome, a little cloudy orange-brown-gold. Smell was great, bread, hop, yum. Overall, would like to have a couple of these, really nice.

Wow what a beautiful refreshing beer. Aroma is amazing smell of beautiful hops, with a nice clean finish. And for an 8% it’s so refreshing. Excellent beer and also can be session beer.

I love this beer not only for its taste, but for its price. This is my go-to IPA, though its not an IPA in the truest sense as the Belgian yeast seems to impart some of the sweeter notes that I find so enjoyable in Belgian ales. Aroma is floral and citrus with a coppery, but clear color. Taste is very well balanced with an initial sweetness, but with a definite hop finish. Lots of carbonation.

0,355l bottle from Csakajósör, Budapest. Clear amber color with frothy white head. Unbelivable aroma because of the dry hopping. Floral, resin, spruce, herbs... every aroma, you expected from hops. Medium bitter taste. I can feel the sweetness of the malt, but the bitterness of the hop is dominant. It’s perfectly balanced. Heavy body with creamy oily texture. Average carbonation. Long delicious hoppy finish. Very-very delicious beer. Perfect imerial IPA.

Great IPA beer, belgian style. Ambar orange colour with a thinny head but dense. Nice to see how it slides on the glass. Aroma is tropical fruit, citric and hop. A pleasure for the noise. The beginning is little bit sweet, then appears a fruity tasted plenty of citric notes and ends with a long bitter fruity hop. Very nice body, carbonation and balance. One of my prefered!

Aroma is a wonderful citrusy pine smell. It poured a clear tangerine color with a nice white head that stuck around for a while. The taste is like the smell with a little bit of bubble gum and a slight bitter aftertaste that goes away pretty quick. It really coats your mouth with an oily slick feeling. I really really like this IPA.

This is the beer that got me hooked on IPA's. Strong? Yes. But with a name like that I wouldn't expect any this less. Really good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Whoa, a most excellent beer. Served at a good temperature, with a large, foamy, frothy, off white head that settles to a light cover after a bit and lots of lace. Color is a clear medium amber with some bubble trails. Flavor is huge hop with plenty of malt, dry, spice, carbonic tang, a little banana. Body is perfect, ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor, very long and only a hint of alcohol. Good hop head brew.

Poured a clear amber/golden with a smallish white head. It has thatIPA hoppiness right away and then some grassy, fruit notes. Love this beer, could be my favorite IPA.
