Borefts warm up at Bier Temple, Amsterdam. Very hazy dark red amber beer. Tidy off white head. Light palate. Nice creamy malt with unsweet dark toffee. Good marmalade hops with fresh citrus. Semi dry finish. Just so very drinkable!

Nocturne (888) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2012
On tap at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Dark amber with an off-white head. A hoppy aroma suggests a red hop bomb might be ticking but it’s much maltier on the tongue, with caramel and red fruit escaping from a dense and almost meaty palate. Pretty tasty stuff.

Borresteijn (4933) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 10, 2012
On tap at In de Wildeman. Reddish brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of hops, toast, pine, burnt caramel. Flavour is hoppy, toasted malts with a little roast, pine and spruce bitter finish with a hint of coffee. Light to medium-bodied. Nice, but nothing spectacular.

PotjeBier (1771) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 5, 2012
On tap @ In De Wildeman. Color is deep red-brown, chestnut, clear. Even off white head with good lace. Smells of aromatic hops, caramel, with retronasal roasted malts, some licorice/drop/laurel and a light acidity. Flavor is roasted bitter (medium), with a light sweetness. Medium bodied. Finishes with a firm bitterness & roast.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2013 Must be the rarity of this month, on-tap at AKA Friscos down the road from the brewery. Dark red color with modest white head. Aroma is pine and citrus hop heavy. Taste brings out some light sweet caramel malt. Medium body, pretty well balanced. Enjoyed with my huge roast beef sub and loaded potato.
