3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlueRidgeMatt (39) - Virginia, USA - OCT 31, 2012
Not a great Porter but it’s a good beer. Great marketing. Lacks strength in typical Porter characteristics including of color, aroma, and flavor. A little malts comes through but they are too weak in my opinion. High carbonation for a Porter and tastes a little watery compared to better Porters. Still, I’ll enjoy it every time I have it.

355ml. Bottle.
Poors clear dark brown with nice creamy head.
Aroma is dark fruits, hops, choco, caramel.
Taste choco bitter, with a fruity sweet.
Mouth-feel thin.
Not the best porter I’ve tasted, lacks porter character.

Some roasted malts come through with a nice burnt, bitter finish. Body is a bit thin though.

Single bottle from a Publix mix. Pours a dark amber with minimal head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, cocoa. Taste of roasted malts and caramel, though not much of either, and a fairly hoppy finish. Pretty average.

Pours a very dark red with medium head and ample lacing. Aroma is slightly alcoholic but with hints of caramel and chocolate malts. Body is quite lacking in taste, not really a typical porter but more of a dark lager. On the other hand, it is very drinkable and can make for a great summer dark beer.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Pours very dark, clear brown with a dark white ring. Oranges, alcohol, a little campari-like even and chocolate aroma. Tastes sweet, thin and a little weird. Sticky feeling, smooth, long finish and light body.

Aroma: A little bit of caramel and molasses with very slight notes of cereal. Aromas are not sticking out a lot.
Appearance: Dark brown or is it between brown and black? Kind of translucent and clear for a porter. Creamy average head, with good lacing.
Taste: Smoke is sticking out a lot. And yet it’s not a smoke porter. Sub notes of coffee, black chocolate and vanilla. But smoke is sticking out too much. Body is very light and thin, texture is very watery, which is not common for a porter. Not the typical porter you’d expect. Too thin and too smoky.

Roasted coffee flavor, dark chocolate and medium bitterness.
Alcohol was too dominant, medium body, OK beer.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted and chocolate malts. Taste is of watered down coffee, roasted malts, and hints of chocolate. Thin and watered down. No depth to it. Very blah Porter. Sticky on the lips and slightly bitter on the finish.
