Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted and chocolate malts. Taste is of watered down coffee, roasted malts, and hints of chocolate. Thin and watered down. No depth to it. Very blah Porter. Sticky on the lips and slightly bitter on the finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with moderate head. Very malty all around, though I fimd it somewhat harsh on the palate. Not bad, but not my favorite porter.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2012 Interesting, complex and very pleasant porter. These guys have repellent labels, but excellent beer. The nose is a lovely aroma of black currant - creme de cassis, as in the Castle Milk Stout. Nice very dark brown, with a firm head, carbonation not spoiling its creaminess. Flavours of malts, roasted bakery, just a touch of chocolate and coffee, and a very well measured bitterness. The medium body beer leaves an extremely pleasant finish, that one just wished it lasted longer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear dark red/brown body with an off white head. Relatively weak aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Medium body, little carbonation. Roasted malty flavour with coffee, some chocolate, a dry bitter finish. Nothing special, but still enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 mL bottle. Itís a shade lighter than a stout, and has a lovely, medium, pillowy, beige head. The aroma is mild, and has some of the expected nuttiness, but also a hint of ripe orchard fruit. Just a hint. The flavour is surprisingly mild as well - very drinkable. There is some bitterness at the end which seems to come from hops, rather than roasted malt. A good, not great porter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. The pour was a medium to dark brown with some red highlights and an average sized (1-2 finger) light brown creamy head that receded slowly down to a semi-thick film with a large collar, which did create some good streaky lacing.
The aroma was of a roasted dark bread malt and a mild leathery yeast with notes of bakerís chocolate, roasted coffee, dark fruit (black currants) and a bit of toffee.
The taste was malty and slightly bitter-sweet with a hint of bakerís chocolate and a touch of toffee at first and then became a tad bitterer with a dose of strong coffee and a mild fruity sweetness towards the end. The flavor stuck around for just a little while with a bold bitter-sweet mocha-coffee taste left to lying on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was medium in body and creamy yet a tad dry in texture with a mildly ticklish carbonation.
Overall a nice easy to drink Porter, with just enough fruity sweetness to offset the bold bitterness...

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured into a pint glass: dark brown, thin head, not persistent.
Smells of roasted malt. Rosted malt taste upfront, metallic taste, strong bitterness. Average porter.
