Other than that it’s a pretty straight beer. Quite light compared to many other porters. rader58 (168), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Pours a dark brown. Aroma of toasted malt and chocolate. Taste is chocolate with a toasted malt undertone. Has a slightly sweet finish. Good, but the flavor is very subtle and almost bland. I with it had a little more kick. Nisse666 (377), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a reddish mahogany color with a small, but quickly diminishing frothy light brown head, a touch of lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, a hint of chocolate, and a hint of citrus. Flavor is caramel and roasted malts, coffee, and a touch of nuttiness. On the lighter side of medium bodied, fairly creamy with a bitter finish. Pretty good beer, good mix between porter and scottish ale. bsp77 (202), Minnesota, USA

Dark brown with a moderate tan head that recedes to a fine line.
Aroma of mild dark chocolate with a musty earthiness that is nice, but a little subdued.
Once again, chocolate is predominant, kind of a dark, bittersweet chocolate. A slight smokiness is present, while bitterness is pretty low. No coffee detectable as in many Robust Porters.
Relatively low carbonation with a medium body that is relatively smooth.
Quite easy to drink as the focus is on semi-dry malt without any major flavor elements (bitterness, sweetness, coffee) to detract. Of course, you could also claim that those major flavor elements could have enhanced it as well. Overall, a very solid Porter I would have again but doesn’t truly stand out.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Clear reddish brown colour and a small brown head. Sweet aroma has roasted malts. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, dark chocolate and has got a nice bitter end. Not a very fine one but not boring either. Jukkabro (3005), Tampere, Finland
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Deep dark red-brown colored with medium sized beige head. Berry aroma with roastiness and some grassy hops, thin dry cocoa note also comes up. Medium bodied. Flavor is more burnt with same dry cocoa and roastiness, aftertaste lasts with dry hops and berries. Rather one dimensional brew.
