| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Mar 17, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown with very little head. The nose has hints of raisins, alcohol, and a certain wine note. Smooth on the roof of the mouth, but prickly on the tongue. It has a certain lingering richness to the mouthfeel. The palate seems somewhat elusive. Light roasted notes in the background. A sort of resin note as well. The hops seem to add an overall bitterness that dominates your palate. The flavor definitely seems to be lacking in this one. Some earthiness towards the end. This one doesn’t do much for me at all. dmac (1442), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2009 12 oz bottle from a variety 12 pack purchased at EZ Liquors. Poured a reddish brown body underneath a smaller weak looking off white foamy head. Aroma of chocolate, vegtables and baking soda. Flavor is only slightly better because the vegtables aren’t coming through but sadly the flavor is still on the bland side. Some grains and chocolate are there but not nearly as apparent as they should be. LearninBeer (201), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Bottle -- Nice deep crimson brew that pours with a cappuccino-like head with a little retention and lacing. Slightly sweet and fruity roasted aroma. Palate a little watery and thin. Flavour is more roasted malt with a metallic, twangy bitterness. Not the sort of porter you want to curl up with for the night, but OK. Probably best with food. NaturalIce (115), originally from Michigan, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2009 12 oz. bottle; I really want to try the Gonzo Imperial Porter. Overall, I’m pretty disappointed with Flying Dog as a whole. This porter was pretty mediocre. Not much else to say.
