Pour is a dark brown with reddish tint, it seemed lifeless and not much head formed at all. Flavor is sweet and malty, with noticeable, yet subtle peat notes? The caramel-malt taste is a little over-powering sweet, almost like it has too much crystal? It is an interesting blend between a scottish ale and a porter. I’m just not digging how the malts are combining in my mouth. Medium body, very soft carbonation. Rune (2787), Tromsø, Norway

Ruby-dark content under a beige, filmy layer. Aroma of dark berries and malt. Flavoured with blackcurrant supported by underlying roasted grain. Mild dark, bitter fruits to the finish. Soft in the mouth. Appreciated, however, rather thin for a porter. 355ml bottle from a SuperBest store in Valby, Denmark, bb.28.01.09 [at home in Tromsø, 09.01.2009]. Carbonated bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass into a swirling pool in the center while malty lacings melt into a ring of foam at the top of the glass. Aroma of sweet malty citrus. Initial flavor of roasted malt which fades into slightly bitter hoppy finish. The Etruscan (306), Tuscany, Italy

The added malt really helped me differentiate this porter from others of the thin, chocolate variety. cprochak (393), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Bottle - Poured a clear brown in color with a small white head that faded to almost nothing. Aroma is malty with hints of dark roasted malts and prunes/dates. Flavor is smoky and fairly sweet with dark fruits and surprisingly strong of cherries. Finishes rather bitter and slightly astringent. An OK beer...
