borisz (180), Netherlands Oct 10, 2009 Bottle, bought at the bierkoning in Amsterdam. Nice clear mahogany with a light grey head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Taste is more of the same along with notes of chocolate, caramel and some peat/smoke. Moderately sweet and roasty finish. Medium thin body with subtle carbonation. No lacing or head retention. Ok.
RR (26), Kentucky, USA Oct 10, 2009 Bottle. Brown in color. Light for a porter. Thin. Watery. Sweet aroma. liquorice/fruit flavor. Not a Porter. DarkSong (102), Dacula, Georgia, USA Oct 6, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a large tan head. It has a nice roasted taste, a strong taste of chocolate and a slight espresso taste. This is very good in my opinion but not what I was expecting in a porter. jesperhammer (260), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 4, 2009 04-OCT-2009, Bottle @home.
Very light in colour for at porter. Brown, with high almost white head.
roasted, but not very bitter. A bit watery, but overall a nice beer, just not a porter in my book. Snot19kilo (81), Oakwood, Illinois, USA Oct 2, 2009 4oz sample, Pours darkish brown. whiteish head. Aroma is spices malt and some berries. the flavor is the same as the aroma plus a smokey taste with a watered down finish. Nothing I care to have again. This is a rating from memory and notes. If I ever rate again I’ll revise. But I wrote "not grate beer" in my notes. so yeah jport4087 (73), Pennsylvania, USA Sep 27, 2009 Decent taste, but kind of thin. Lightly watery palate. All malt flavor, but fortunately not too sweet. Lightly burnt malt finish. A bit on the boring side..but still very drinkable. sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Sep 24, 2009 EBF08. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, blackberry, raisin and some liquorish. Flavour is malt, some fruit and liquorish. Dry aftertaste. Lalli (149), Helsinki, Finland Sep 23, 2009 Bottle. Dark copper brown color, little head. Aroma is rather burnt and spicy. Flavor has a clear touch of liquorice. Somehow the overall impression is quite lame, though, perhaps a bit too watery.
